Fehérvári Road Market — Local services in Budapest

Probably a nice place if you want to buy a sausage or a cheese.

Also probably nice if you are a middle aged Hungarian who wants to hang out and have a number of beers or glasses of wine in the middle of a weekday in a mildly depressing concrete environment.

But I happened to not like the fish I bought for lunch. Too raw inside, catfish probably too fat for me anyway.

And not least: The mobile shop sold me a used SIM-card! When I came home to unpack it, I realized it had been in use, the PIN-code had been scratched and there was no data left on it....

A lot of fresh vegetables & fruits at a relatively OK price. Convenience store inside with a cheese-, salad-, legume- and cakecounter all of them with again, more or less OK prices. There are also florists, a small bakery and ice cream stand when in season. 2nd floor has more of the same but 3rd some small food corner with every day meals (rice/poatoes/fish/meat/salads/etc.) and again some confectionery. Prices are not vastly different to other shops strewn around the city but everything is in one place and, well,...

I live close by and buy fruit often. Everyone has always been friendly, but today for the first time I encountered racism at the "Swift fruit" stall (the name was on the bill). Moreover, while my online payment was going through, the seller demonstrativly kissed his girlfriend and both of them were laughing that I didn't speak Hungarian.
