My name is McKenzie and my husband’s name is Gerry. We are American traveler who recently spent 2 weeks in India. We visited Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, and Ranthambore National park— aside from experiencing India’s rich culture and seeing its beautiful landmarks our favorite part of our trip was getting to meet and know our driver/travel guide Dara.

When we first began planning our trip many people recommended that we hire a driver. Our friend recommended Dara so I immediately reached out to him via WhatsApp to begin planning. Dara made planning our trip easy and seamless— his English on the phone and via text are great. We told him what we wanted and what we expected and he made that happen. Within 5 days of contacting him, Dara had a complete itinerary booked for us— he had hotels booked, guides lined up, safaris planned, etc. If we needed it he had it prepared, and if he didn’t he would make it happen.

When we arrived in India he met us at the airport. He was easy to locate and was so welcoming. His car was always very clean and stocked with water (which I never thought about being important but it was). Every day Dara made sure that we were well fed and stayed hydrated. At night he would confirm pickup times for the following morning and he was always on time and ready when he said he would be.

Each new city Dara would have a guide prepared to meet us. Typically we would pick up the guide with Dara, he would introduce us, and then Dara would drive us from place to place leaving us with the guide while he stayed with the car. We always felt our valuables were safe in the car when we left them with Dara— and our guides were always top notch.

Dara was able to book our accommodations so that we stayed in safe areas and could get a bit of a discount. We always felt very safe in each place he had booked for us. My two request when booking hotels was that we feel safe and clean. There was only one instance where we checked in and the accommodations were not up to our or Dara’s standards. He IMMEDIATELY jumped into action and found us different accommodation for the night. He went above and beyond what he had to do to make us comfortable.

Our favorite part of the trip were our hours upon hours in the car with Dara learning about him and his culture. We honestly would have never been able to enjoy India like we did if it were not for Dara. If you are thinking of traveling to India DO IT— you will not regret it and book with Dara! When we return we will definitely be reaching out to Dara again— we consider him part of the family now.

This was our first trip to india after 15 years. All family members loved Golden triangle tour and really appreciated everything dhara ji did for us. He made sure we were safe and had comfortable ride. He had chilled bottled water ready for us so we dont get sick. He got us to all our destinations safely. If there was any problem he took care of it right away. The guides at each location and all tours were extremely good, very flexible (appreciate this!) and for that he deserves a special thanks. Especially Jaipur and Agara were excellent. All Delhi monuments are closed on Mondays and I wish we knew that ahead of time. He also took us to great veg restaurants and shopping places. If you are touring india for the first time and don't know the terrain we highly recommend having a tour guide like Mr dhara it will make your trip memorable. WOW!! WOW! Wow. This was an amazing experience! The tour guide is actually an Indian mythology professor so he was VERY knowledgeable about any questions we had. He was more than happy to spend all the time we wanted at any location. I would highly recommend stopping at the inlaid marble demonstration shop after seeing the Taj Mahal, and also stop at the Star of India jewelry shop. The inlaid marble shop family will tell you all about the intricate hand crafting involved in making every jewel inlaid on the Taj Mahal. The tour guides are extremely friendly, professional, personable, and knowledgeable. They also are able to bypass waiting in lines because the security personnel know them.
