A Journey of Healing – My Gratitude for an Exceptional Medical Team at ZYDUS HOSPITAL
Spending 10 days in the hospital is never something anyone looks forward to, but thanks to the remarkable team at ZYDUS Hospital, my stay was filled with care, comfort, and compassion that exceeded all expectations. What could have been a stressful and difficult period turned into a deeply human experience of healing—physically, emotionally, and mentally. I write this with immense gratitude and sincere appreciation for every individual who contributed to my recovery, especially the doctors, nursing staff, ward boys, and housekeeping team.
Doctors: The Pillars of Confidence and Healing
The doctors at ZYDUS Hospital were nothing short of exceptional. From my first consultation to the day of discharge, I was treated with the utmost clarity and professionalism. My primary doctor, Mr. Prakash Darji, was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also extremely patient in explaining my diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery process in a way that was easy to understand. Every concern I had was heard and answered by Prakash Sir and Dr. Hetal Dave from his team, and every decision was made with my well-being at the center. They never rushed through consultations, took their time during daily rounds, and collaborated with one another to ensure that all aspects of my care were aligned. I am also deeply grateful to Dr. Mukesh Patel, Dr. Kamal Goplani, Dr. Bhavesh Roy, Dr. Nikhil Dave, Dr. Parthan Joshi, Dr. Bhavik Shah, and Dr. Tejas Modi.
I was fortunate to be under the supervision of Dr. Vaishali Shah and Dr. Jolly Patel, whose expertise was matched only by their compassion. They maintained transparent communication throughout. They weren’t just treating my illness—they were treating me as a person, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
Nursing Staff: The Heart of the Hospital
If the doctors are the brain of a hospital, the nurses are surely the heart. The nursing staff Khetesh, Bhavna, Unnati, Bijal and Simran, made an extraordinary impact on me every single day of my stay. They were always there—day and night—with a gentle smile and a reassuring touch. From administering medications on time to checking vitals and responding promptly to my calls, the nurses went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and cared for.
What struck me most was their empathy. They spoke kindly, moved gently, and made me feel seen and valued. It wasn’t just about following a medical routine; it was about creating a sense of trust and emotional support. I truly believe the nurses played a vital role in my recovery—not just with their skill, but with their unwavering compassion.
Ward Boys: The Unsung Heroes
Often working behind the scenes, the ward boys Dinesh and Satish, were some of the dependable and courteous individuals during my hospital stay. Whether it was assisting with mobility, washroom, bringing food, helping me adjust the bed, or taking me for diagnostic tests, they were always respectful, attentive, and responsive.
Housekeeping Staff: The Guardians of Cleanliness and Calm
In a hospital, cleanliness isn’t just about appearances—it’s about safety, hygiene, and peace of mind. The housekeeping staff ensured that my unit remained immaculately clean, organized, and germ-free at all times. They worked silently in the background, often unnoticed, but their efforts created an environment that truly supported healing.
A Collective Thank You
As I reflect on my 10-day journey, I am overwhelmed with appreciation for the entire team at ZYDUS HOSPITAL. Each individual I encountered—from the senior consultants to the newest staff member—played a part in helping me heal. It is rare to see such seamless teamwork, mutual respect, and shared commitment to patient care.
You all worked not just with your hands, but with your hearts—and I felt that every day. You turned a difficult chapter into a life-affirming experience I will never forget. Thank you for everything.

Read moreZydus Hospital, Ahmedabad - A Money-Making Machine, Not a Healthcare Provider Zydus Hospital, Ahmedabad, is a disgrace to the concept of healthcare, operating as a shameless profit-driven organization that prioritizes money over patient care. My experience last Saturday was nothing short of infuriating and exposed their true colors as a corporate money-making racket. I visited the hospital for a BP-related issue and paid a hefty ₹900 consultation fee. The doctor, after a brief check-up, instructed me to monitor my BP for 5-6 days and return the following Saturday with the readings. There was no indication that this follow-up would incur additional charges, as it was part of the same treatment plan. When I returned the next Saturday, as directed, the floor manager of C wing had the audacity to demand another ₹900 consultation fee. I explained that the doctor had specifically asked me to come back with BP details and that no new consultation was needed. Shockingly, the floor manager dismissed this, arrogantly declaring, “We are on top of the doctor, and they are not the decision-makers here.” This statement alone is a damning indictment of Zydus Hospital’s priorities. To hear that administrative staff outrank medical professionals in a supposed healthcare institution is not just appalling—it’s a betrayal of patient trust. It’s clear that at Zydus, financial gatekeepers call the shots, not doctors who are trained to prioritize health. This predatory billing practice is outright exploitative, designed to milk patients for every rupee possible. Charging ₹900 for a follow-up that was explicitly part of the original consultation is unethical and reeks of corporate greed. Zydus treats patients like cash machines, forcing them to pay repeatedly for what should be a single, cohesive treatment process. The fact that a floor manager can override a doctor’s instructions shows a toxic hierarchy where revenue trumps medical ethics. This isn’t healthcare—it’s a business model that preys on the vulnerable, especially middle- and lower-income patients already burdened by healthcare costs. The broader implications are alarming. If administrative staff can dictate terms over doctors, how can anyone trust the quality of care at Zydus? Are treatment plans based on medical need, or are they engineered to maximize billable visits, tests, or procedures? This experience has left me with zero confidence in Zydus Hospital. Their glossy reputation as a “premier” facility is a sham, masking a ruthless focus on profits over people. I strongly advise others to avoid Zydus unless absolutely necessary. Local clinics or smaller hospitals often provide competent care without the corporate exploitation. My impression of Zydus Hospital, Ahmedabad, is one of disgust and distrust—stay away from this money-hungry...
Read moreThe recent journey from the day I got diagnosed with NASH related Cirrhosis to the post operation phase has been quite eventful for me.
Last July I was diagnosed with an end stage liver disease. All doctors had advised me that if I wanted to live a healthy life for the remaining of my years then a transplant would be my only option. But whenever I thought about the word surgery I used to get scared and kept postponing my assessments. Finally the Liver Transplant team at Zydus headed by Dr. Anand Khakhar convinced me to get my assessments done and get me registered on a cadaver waiting list.
In this duration of 10 months, the whole Team at Zydus has played the most important role in my life. From day 1 of transplant counselling till the day I got discharged post surgery, Zydus has helped me in each and every step forward towards a successful transplant.
The last 3 months getting ready for my transplant were the most difficult ones. Strict weight loss for a healthy transplant, physio and exercise, nutritious food with careful intake of fluids and calories, waiting on the official cadaver list and being mentally prepared for a transplant - these all things were extremely necessary for me. I must specially thank my Doctors Dr. Anand Khakhar sir and Dr. Ajay Choksey sir, my Physio instructer Dr. Himani Goswami madam the Nutrionist and Dietician team and the dedicated nursing staff on 14th floor, without them I wouldn’t have been ready for my transplant.
Today post my successful liver transplant, there has been a phenomenal change not only in my physical well being but also in my personality as well. Today I am going home as a complete new person than the person who was admitted. The entire credit for this goes to Zydus.
Hospitals can give you the treatment you want but the care and support given at Zydus was the difference. The medical Infrastructure is state of art and Zydus has the highest level of accreditations compared to most of the hospitals in India. The team at Zydus starting from the management to the attendants helping me have played a significant part in my recovery. There are no questions asked when it comes to the expertise and knowledge of doctors at Zydus. The nursing staff has been so wonderful here that every single day they have made me feel at home. Each person working here at Zydus has been phenomenal and I take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of them.
At last I want to personally thank the Liver Transplant team at Zydus starting from surgeons, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, nutritionists, medical officers, attendants and every single person who has treated me and taken my care during my transplant. Without their help, a successful surgery and a fast recovery would have been next to impossible.
