Singapore Shoppe — Local services in Zone 13 Adyar

Hi.I have been leaving in valmiki Nagar for the last 20+ years. My family and I have been going to Singapore shoppe for the longest time .People around here have told me to be careful and check the items bought-I disregarded this and continued to remain loyal to them. But today they have shown me their true colours for a pack of salt. (Rs. 120) . My wife had purchased few groceries for the month on 3/10/2020 amounting to around Rs. 700 on emptying the bag at home, she realised that the salt wasn't in the bag . After confirming that it hasn't been packed, I went to the concerned person in Singapore shoppe on 5/10/2020 with the bill to retrieve the missing item.

This is where it gets interesting as the shopkeeper said I was lying and called me dishonest. So my wife went to the shopkeeper in the next 15 mins to tell him we wouldn't do this for a bag of salt .The shopkeeper rudely told her that she was also lying and shouted at her. He shoved the bill back which she refused to take, and so he shouted at her again calling her a liar.

Forgetting an item isn't a big deal-it can happen to anyone. But to accuse your customers of lying when they approach you politely reeks of arrogance and dishonesty. The same thing has happened at another popular department store. We called the store and they themselves delivered the item the next day.

My advice is be careful and check your items ten times before you leave the store with the bill because if they do this for bag of salt to a customer who has been going to them for so long, then it's obvious that they don't believe in ethical business practices and...

You get everything under one roof ; but for a price only.Expensive 😦Home delivery is hopeless.They promised to deliver B4 2pm.Finally brought at 4 pm. 😕😣😧 Ok today 12/07/2017 Saturday ie 6 weeks after the purchase we found that a pack of white beans (mochai ) was teeming with insects wriggling inside.I went with the original receipt and asked for replacement since the goods were damaged. But the owner Bhai frowned at me , made a face at me and refused to replace. I lost on this product 😢 He emphasised that there is no guranatee / warantee or goodwill. I wow now that I would never ever patronize this lousy unscrupulous place anymore. A word of warning to other shoppers; use/consume whatever you buy in this shop within days .Else they will spoil and you lose your money 😢 Their moto " goods sold ; bad or good , never taken back "😟. An old shop that's been here for many years. Off lately the quality of products and service have gone downhill. The salespeople are very rude to customers. Both the floors in the shop are very dirty and not maintained properly. Airconditioner is always switched off. Most of the items are not stocked properly. Most of the shelves are always empty and filled with dust. When I went here last time, I asked for a gift wrapper and they asked me to go behind the counter and get it myself. And they are also selling plastic covers at ₹7 per small plastic bag for carrying the things we purchase. This has become a horrible shop now. Hope they close it soon and bring a better shop at this...
