Sardar-e Bagh-e Melli is a monumental brick gateway to a historic government complex. It features colorful tile murals and is a great place to start your exploration of the area. Here's a tip: Since it's part of a government compound, double-check opening hours before your visit. They are typically 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Sunday. Former Shahbani Palace also known as Kakh Shahbani, is an impressive building you'll encounter upon entering the National Garden (Bagh-e Melli) through the Ferdowsi Street alley near Hotel Ferdosi. While you can't access the interior of the building, the facade is a sight to behold in its own right. Keep in mind that since it's a government building, be sure to check visiting hours before your trip, as access might be restricted.

A magnificient experience in the middle of hustle and bustle of one of the noisiest neighborhoods of Tehran. Decades of history carry you away in a fantastic journey through time. From Ghazaghkhaneh in the north to Sar Dar Bagh Melli in the south, ministry of foreign affairs in the east and Malek musem in the west, you will need a couple of hours to enjoy the details! It's a place every tourist shall visit in Tehran to feel the historicity of an ancient country.

Regarding the history of Mashakh Square, it was established during the time of Fath Ali Shah Qajar and developed and expanded during the period of Naseruddin Shah. This building, which has walls consisting of brick arches around it and has a gate with a double door and two arches, was made square in order to respect Mohammad Hassan Khan Sepahsalar. Mashakh Square is actually located in the area between Post Alley and Sepeh Bank, on Imam Khomeini Street. In the following years, a building in the Russian style of architecture was built in the northwest of Sardar Naseri, which was the center of the state Kazakh Khanate and was managed by European and Russian military advisers. This mansion is actually part of the oldest existing building in Mashakh square. After the Qajar period and with the beginning of the Pahlavi dynasty, when western urban planning patterns entered the country, the order of this building was also disrupted. By disrupting the order of urban patterns, the ground was provided for the transformation of the structure of the feudal or pre-capitalist Iranian society. At that time, Reza Khan moved the barracks outside of Tehran and vacated Mashakh Square and decided to build administrative facilities there. This building later became a national garden, but it did not last for a few years, and after that, buildings such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Library, and the Museum of Ancient Iran began to be built in it. In this square, two guard posts located in the western and eastern parts have been destroyed, and the beautiful and unique view of the Sardar building is somewhat affected by its two...
