Absolutely atrocious service and the food, even worse. First time I ordered here it took over an hour for delivery and the service on the phone was shocking when I rang about my order. Food was nice when it arrived but took far too long for such a small order. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to order again mid week thinking it wouldn't be busy but how wrong was I. I ordered at 7:30 and the food didn't arrive till 9:10. And this was for a 2 in 1 and spring rolls! Usual reply, you ring the restaurant and they say it's on the way then you're waiting another 15 minutes. I live only 5 minutes down the road. That's not the worst part though. When my food arrived it was left in my porch in no bag, the tray had a hole in the side of it so there was curry sauce everywhere and the bag of spring rolls was ripped and there was one missing. The food literally looked like it was kicked up and down the road by the delivery driver! Obviously it went straight in the bin. The girl on the phone didn't know what to say she was mortified. I got on to justeat to complain they sorted it out after 2 hours of back and forth talk. Then I'm in bed, just after feeding my newborn, to get woken up at 11:30pm by a justeat representative to tell me that there's a driver on the way to pick the food up and then they will issue my refund (sorry not even a refund a credit to my account) once they collect the food. I explained it's in the bin so if they want it back they can go looking for it plus no one better knock at my door at 11:30 in the evening. By far the worst experience I've ever had with a takeaway restaurant. Just beware that this is what you're dealing with when you order...

Entering the building itself is like going back in time to 2005: between the blueish grey tiles, conspicuous looking couch and the frequent ringing of phone orders coming in on the landline you may start to think this place is cash only, wondering the Centra next door is still open to get cashback.
Where's the girl on the till? She might be there, taking your order in an exceptionally friendly and conversational manner, or she might have popped out for a quick smoke break out front with a local friend or regular.
The food is your standard affair for an Irish Chinese: salt and chilli chips, vaguely battered chicken strips, an outrageous amount of curry sauce - but sure if you wanted something more authentic you wouldn't be in Killester, would you?
To sum it all up, Grain is the type of spot that if you saw it closed on a Friday night you would be deeply concerned for the welfare of your community, especially since the pub is...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting! Ordered 4in1 and the chips were clearly cooked multiple times, the chicken balls werent even in proper batter, the rice was cold. Rang up and had the phone hung up and my number blocked. Extremely disappointed. I think the 4in1 was ordered and just left to sit around before an attempt to try and reheat it somehow as the rest of the order had seperate chips and chicken balls aswel as other stuff that was cooked and was mediocre but not as bad.
This restaurant was good for a long time then had a dip in standard. They got back to about average until now where they have fallen further. Wont use again!
