Guru G Indian Cuisine — Local services in The Borough District of Drogheda

Guru G has been our go-to Indian in Drogheda for a while now and the food is always consistently excellent. The flavours are rich and vibrant every single time - genuinely the best Indian food I’ve had in Ireland. Portion sizes are what you’d expect for a good takeaway, and everything is always fresh and full of flavour.

The palak gosht in particular is a standout - beautifully creamy with tender, good-quality lamb every time. You can tell they take care with their ingredients and cooking.

One small suggestion - it would be great if their meal for two deal could include vegetarian options as mains, not just chicken or lamb - it would make it much more flexible for different dietary preferences. Also, the free poppadoms are a bit hit or miss - sometimes we get them, sometimes not, even though we usually order for around three people each time.

But overall, these are minor points - the food keeps us coming back again and again....

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Ordered a Palak Gosht which should only come with LAMB! Arrived home to find out they made it with chicken. Literally a Saag Gosht. Totally different dish and spices etc. Just doesn't taste as how it should. Awful.

Called to inform them... and this is the response:

Where do you live? ** Oh sorry... too far. Nothing we can do. Order again and next time we'll do something.

Funny thing is that if I did order for delivery online I'm within their delivery radius.

There will be no next time. I went out of my way to order and collect. As YOU got the order totally wrong... YOU should have put it right and had it...

First time trying here this evening. It was absolutely gorgeous! By far the best Indian restaurant in Drogheda. We used to order from Punjabi house but the last couple of times they have been tasteless, poor quality, and too expensive.

Guru have knocked it out of the park with the food. Great size portions, great tasting food. Even the pilau rice was gorgeous,

My only criticism is that their delivery time could be improved. We ordered about 20 minutes after they opened at 4pm. It was after 5:40that it arrived. The food was still lovely and hot though so not a big complaint,
