The food here was just okay nothing memorable. The overall quality was average, though somewhat within the standard considering the touristy area.
What left a very bad impression was the way the special dish was handled. The waiter came over and offered us a pasta dish that wasn’t on the menu, pasta with lobster. He didn’t mention the price, and since it seemed like he was selling the pasta ( see receipt), not the lobster, I trusted his suggestion and didn’t think to ask for the price. It felt like a respectful, busy restaurant, so I didn’t expect any surprises.
When the dish arrived, we were served two plates of pasta with lobster. The lobster itself was chewy, clearly overcooked, and oddly spiced, which made little sense given that in Italy, seafood is usually prepared simply to highlight freshness.
The real shock came at the end of the night: we were charged €105 per person for that pasta (210€). That’s simply outrageous. I’ve dined in Michelin-starred restaurants in London with prime locations and have never paid more than £60 for a top-tier pasta dish.
This kind of pricing is unheard of in Italy and feels like a deliberate attempt to take advantage of tourists. It’s extremely disappointing to see places like this treating guests with such little respect.
Avoid this place – there are many other restaurants in the area offering better quality and honest prices. Don’t fall into this...
Read moreCan't say enough good things about the restaurant and the owner. He was arguably the most friendly person we met on the island and the hospitality at the restaurant was outstanding - in stark contrast to the rather overpriced hotel we stayed at.
My only "complaint' is the sheer volume of food. I think it was 3...4 courses? I don't remember - I do remember being completely stuffed with amazing food and a great experience. My only regret was that they were closed on our last available night during our stay after I found this place - would've happily gone back again.
Highly recommend to anyone...
