Frades La Terrazza — Restaurant in Alzachèna/Arzachena

So the overall experience was not that bad. I can’t wrap my head around the ‘beautiful view’ comments to be honest because you are literally on top of a noisy street and the sea is far away (so in general I’d say there are better views), but what I really appreciated is that the place itself looks very intimate and on the high end.

The food was okay. Some dishes like fregola and tacos con gamberi were reeeeally good, others a tad less. It’s definitely a place that aims at being fine dining and mostly even manages to get there, only thing is that some dishes were really not balanced properly (the one with melon sorbet was really unpleasant). Quality of the products is, however, very good.

The staff is exceptional. Really prepared and professional, they really take care of their customers, without being ‘too present’ and that I would say is the things that justifies the price the most.

In general if I need to judge only the food I would say it is a tad overpriced, but considering the ambience, the location in general and the staff then the bill we got becomes more reasonable, or at least in line with other places (remember we are in one of the most expensive areas...

Being local I have known the place for many years, but had yet to try the Frades food and atmosphere and I must say that I am very impressed! The staff is friendly and very professional and didn't bat an eyelid when, I very sober, but very clumsy me nearly toppled myself and the table whilst attempting to sit on the tall stool as my foot got caught on the little step causing me to lose balance. Little incident aside, everything was perfect from the delicious local food (the truffle topped colurgiones are a must) , to the service (a special thank you to our waiter who was very attentive and approachable) to the unbeatable, breathtaking, view of the bay! The final special touch was the little treat we received at the end, that was so delicious it hit my brain in spots I didn't even know existed, it was chocolaty, lemony and nutty all at the same time. I would definitely recommend Frades, especially at sunset. Of course the quality of the food an service is reflected in the bill. However it is still affordable compared to other places in the area. So a big Thank You to Roberto and his staff for making our evening...

The meal was satisfactory, but the overall experience was overshadowed by the unprofessional handling of an ordering error. We requested a dish to share and it was served split into two separate plates - which we taught it was only for the convenience of the service. When the bill arrived, we noticed that we were charged for two full portions. Upon raising the issue, the manager responded defensively, attempting to place the blame on us rather than acknowledging the mistake. The issue for us was not the extra cost, but the way the situation was handled. Unfortunately, we left with a negative impression despite the reasonable quality...
