This place is in an awkward spot on the TMB, very close to Courmayeur. We stayed here as we were not able to contact Refugio Elisabetta. I was expecting a Gite so was thrilled to find myself in a modern ensuite triple room. Beautifully decorated with a gigantic slate bathroom. Comfortable beds with one drawback. I had the top bunk and there is a piece of wood, there I believe because it covers a joint in the boards, that sticks down from the ceiling in a sharp point. This is right in the way and very dangerous for moving around on that top bunk. Other rooms were under construction so we had to pass through this mess to walk up the exterior stairs to the restaurant. There is a large deck to enjoy the views outside the dining room. They are building another dining building adjacent to this deck which will be lovely from the looks of it. Their dortoir rooms are in a building across and down the street maybe 50 meters, I did not view them. The half-board dinner was not very good. They served veal with gravy. The dessert was a shock after all the special treats we had eaten in remote spots: canned fruit cocktail. And this place is a short drive to Courmayeur. Made me want to be down there amongst those...

The rooms are very typical TMB refugio- lots of beds, close together. Clean though, and many are not bunk beds (bonus!). They were not full but they had everyone sleeping in one room. I understand the logic there, but I would have preferred to be spread out between the empty rooms. That's generally just an added treat, though. The meals were in a separate building and nothing special, although it filled our bellies after a long day of hiking. The wifi wasn't working at first, but they gladly restarted the router and we had a good connection. Some hikers showed up late and the hosts graciously made them dinner and...
