A real ordeal for the 2nd of May. We paid for a day ticket for a faster ferry. The first one left Garda 1 hour late. Supposedly to wait for some passengers. The passengers, who became increasingly confused, were not informed of the reason for the delay. Another contributing factor was that the ship had already left the harbour, but after about 600 metres it suddenly returned to the harbour without notice. In Limone, we didn't catch the ship (connection) that we wanted to take to Riva, but the next one, which was also 30 minutes late. Instead of 4 hours in Riva, we only had 2 hours to see the town, as we were already waiting for the last fast ferry to Garda. The ferry was already almost full in Limone, so it didn't take on any more passengers at the next stops. Once it had dropped off the passengers in Gardone, it travelled back to Malcesine to pick up the passengers it couldn't pick up earlier. All of us who wanted to go to Garda and the south had to stay on the boat for another hour. Nobody informed us of this or offered us an alternative. Where...

Oggi. Famiglia con bimbo piccolo, vogliamo fare una gitarella in giornata da Maderno a Malcesine. I biglietti per il servizio rapido non si possono comprare online, solo in biglietteria, dio solo sa perché. Arriviamo alle 9, biglietteria chiusa, non sappiamo se c'è posto e quanto pagare il parcheggio. Alle 9.30 biglietteria apre, facciamo biglietto ma solo andata perché il ritorno non si può fare, ci dicono. (piccolo inciso sui parcheggi: cerchiamo di pagare il parcheggio e dopo il pagamento elettronico il macchinetto dà errore, siamo costretti a pagare due volte). Arriviamo a Malcesine alle 10.55, faccio fila mezzora per il biglietto di ritorno, passano avanti quelli delle corse più vicine alla partenza (giusto eh, ma se si potesse fare i biglietti AR si dimezzerebbero le file,no?). Arriva il mio turno. a che ora sono le corse di ritorno il bigliettaio me lo dice di malavoglia e mentre sto scegliendo quale corsa fare il bigliettaio mi dice testuale "c'è la fila, se lei non sa dove (?!) andare si tolga dal mezzo e torni più tardi". Io, romagnola, BASITA, me ne sono andata per evitare di litigare. Non faccio mai recensioni negative e ho girato mezzo mondo ma una roba del genere mai vista. Organizzazione e gestione del cliente PESSIMA, datevi una regolata. Mi auguro di trovare i biglietti per il ritorno, perché a questo punto non dò più nulla per scontato.

EDIT DELLE 13.50. Abbiamo modificato i piani della giornata rinunciando a salire al monte Baldo per essere sicuri di riuscire a tornare indietro. Ora la biglietteria ha riaperto e al mio compagno è stato fatto un biglietto aperto, senza l'orario della corsa e con possibilità di prendere le corse successive anche non rapide (l'esatto contrario di quello che mi era stato detto con arroganza stamattina). Spero che l'Azienda prenda provvedimenti riguardo il bigliettaio di Malcesine di oggi 29 giugno 2022 alle 11.20, perché oltre all'arroganza evidentemente gestisce con totale arbitrarietà la vendita...

What better way to enjoy stunning Garda than by ferry boat? There are (as far as we could see) two types of ferry: the big, slow boats and the smaller, faster hydrofoils. We took a trip from Garda to Sirmione, surely one of the most beautiful places in Lake Garda, if not the world. The cost was 46 Euros for a family of three. The ferry ran on time, but it was a very sedate journey. On the way back, we paid an extra 12 Euros for the faster service. This was a supplement of 4 Euros each, but worth it as it was the last day of our holiday and it meant we could enjoy an hour more at Sirmione and still get back to Garda...
