Pizzeria Ristorante Catullo — Restaurant in Garda

We wanted just a glass of wine close to the lake - unfortunately we made the mistake of choosing this place. We sat down at one of the many available tables and tried to get the attention of the young, male waiter, but he kept ignoring us. After a few minutes, as a last attempt, my boyfriend tried from a table’s distance to ask the waiter for two specific glasses of wine, to which the waiter just turned his back to us. In the end we gave up on ordering and decided to find another place instead. When we are about 20 meters away from the restaurant, we hear the waiter scream and yell after us. He comes running and literally orders us to return to the table, because he was now going to serve the wine. He is making quite a scene in the middle of the street and it is very uncomfortable. We ask him to calm down multiple times and we also try to explain multiple times why we left. If we had understood that he had registered or even heard our order, we would of course not have left. He will not listen and starts to threaten my boyfriend and even seems eager to hit him! This waiter is completely out of control and the situation feels very unsafe and uncomfortable. In an attempt to calm him down, we decide to go back with him to the table and pay for two glasses of wine, plus 30% extra as a tip. He is still not happy. He makes the two glasses of wine and kinda angrily smashes them into the table. Since the situation is very weird and uncomfortable, we quickly drink the wine and get up to leave again. Just to avoid any further scenes in the middle of the street, we wait to leave until this waiter passes by us, to which I ask him “sir, is it okay if we leave now?” and he angrily responds “yes, LEAVE!” I am just left completely speechless by this waiter’s behavior. This is not a normal customer service experience in Italy at all, a waiter that is treating customers like that and even threatening them?? I will not recommend this...

DO NOT EAT HERE unless you don't care about the taste or quality of food. We ordered the grilled trout and Diavola pizza, and both were tasteless. We had ordered the exact same dishes in Sermione the day before (see my most previous review - we went there twice, but I only gave one review), but they had been spectacular, so we were at least expecting something good, if not great, but we got neither. In each case, the food was bland. TASTELESS. We went there because of the great reviews, so we were super disappointed and perplexed over how we could get such substandard meals. One theory is that the main cook was sick and the chef that day didn't know how to follow recipes. Another, more likely, is that they are just coasting on good reviews. Another, related, is that the people who gave the great reviews don't know what good food is supposed to taste like, although since I've never been steered wrong so badly before, I feel this less likely. Ci siamo fermati dopo una passeggiata nel lungo Lago... il cameriere fuori molto disponibile e così ci siamo fatti convincere che magari non è il solito posto turistico. Siamo in 2 adulti e due bambini abbiamo ordinato 1 Hamburger x mio figlio 1 spaghetto allo scoglio 1 antipasto di lago e a seguire due primi (1 risotto al radicchio 1 penna pasticciata ) abbiamo aspettato per l'esattezza 1 ora e 5 minuti... tutti attorno a noi mangiavano (tranne i nostri vicini di tavolo che anche loro aimé) persone che si erano seduti da 20 minuti già pranzavano anche con dei risotti di pesce che magari x il riso ci vuole.piu tempo... Cmq sia chiediamo al cameriere che praticamente non ci considera mai parla passando di fretta senza nemmeno fermarsi 1 secondo... aspetto ma stavo per alzarmi arriva l'antipasto lo spaghetto (che era più uno spaghetto di pesce e niente a che vedere con lo scoglio ) e l'hamburgher di mio figlio, lo taglio in 4 e mi accorgo che la.carne dentro era cruda ma veramente cruda appena scottata ...chiamo il cameriere e chiedo se mi può rifare il panino attendo e arriva con lo stesso Hamburger riscaldato così alla piastra bruciato e il pane ovviamente era diventato una soletta...mio figlio mangia solo le.patate fritte e già a me mi stavano girando le scatole così faccio cavare anche il risotto non ne ho voglia di aspettare ancora ...morale delle favola siamo stati seduti 2 ore ad un tavolo da pranzo e la cosa che mi da più fastidio non è stato aspettare o l'hamburgher ma l'atteggiamento del personale e del titolare che dopo essere stato chiamato ci ha semplicemente detto so già ve l'ho cavato dal conto . Essendo una località turistica non accetto che si debba mangiare o essere trattati superficialmente perché i nostri soldi sono veri e sudati come quelli di altri..semplicemente bastava dire appena seduti ragazzi c'è da aspettare un po e avremmo aspettato e bastava essere un pochino più cordiali e avere più attenzione verso il cliente perché è vero che siamo turisti ma è anche vero che ogni tanto passiamo dalla zona e se ci avessero trattato con i dovuti modi saremmo ritornati sicuramente.
