I’ve been shopping in this grocery store but lately I’ve noticed shoplifting, lack of control over people touching fresh fruits and vegetables with bare hands (not allowed in most grocery stores in Italy, must wear provided gloves), also consuming food before purchasing. Bakery products such fresh bread and pastries also being touched with bare hands. Opened and discarded, partially consumed food on shelves or floor. Read moreDecent size supermarket that is close to the hotels and the train station. Prices are cheaper than in the city of Venice. If you are just coming here to visit for a few days and stay at the hotel near by I recommend getting some snacks and drinks to leave at the hotel as well as some drinks for travelling. Prices will be 3 times more expensive in the city and you can buy some snacks to bring home on your last day. They also have a very small section of make up there if you forgot to bring yours. This was a hypermarket set over 2 floors and included everything from homeware to frozen goods.
Its been adapted to the local market and as such has a great selection of local and national products - the olive oil and bakery section (for cookies) had me bamboozled and impressed.
The multilingual staff were helpful and polite so for a visitor like me - a blessing.
