I ordered a focaccia that was nearly inedible: the crust was so hard it could make your gums bleed, and the entire thing was unbearably salty. But the worst part of my visit wasn’t the food — it was the service, which left a genuinely disturbing impression.
As an Asian traveler, I couldn’t help but feel that we were being treated differently. The man at the counter, a middle-aged staff member, initially told us we needed to wait 15 minutes. After patiently waiting for over 20 minutes and still receiving nothing, I politely asked if we could get our food soon, as I had a train to catch. Instead of offering any kind of understanding, he rudely threw some cash on the counter and told me I could either take the refund and leave or continue waiting. When I said I didn’t want a refund, he dismissively waved me outside and told me to wait there.
Meanwhile, other non-Asian customers were allowed to wait inside and received their orders much faster. The contrast was stark and disheartening.
This experience honestly tarnished my impression of Venice. The high ratings for this place seem to stem more from its proximity to the train station than the actual quality of its food or service. If you want to preserve your good mood while visiting Venice, I strongly recommend staying away from...
Read moreMy visit to Antica Focacceria Fiorentina in Venice was nothing short of spectacular. Nestled at Via Ca’ Marcello, this charming spot is a true Italian treasure. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted with the warm, inviting aroma of fresh focaccia, setting the stage for an authentic Venetian culinary experience.
The focaccia here is undoubtedly the star of the show. Crispy on the outside, soft and bursting with flavor on the inside, it’s clear that they use only the finest, freshest ingredients. Each bite transported me to culinary bliss, perfectly capturing the essence of traditional Italian baking.
But it’s not just the food that makes Antica Focacceria Fiorentina stand out. The service was exceptional, with staff who were not only attentive but also shared a passion for their cuisine. Their recommendations were spot on, enhancing my dining experience.
The cozy atmosphere of the place, combined with its delightful flavors and friendly service, makes it a must-visit for anyone in Venice. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, a stop at Antica Focacceria Fiorentina is an opportunity to indulge in some of the best focaccia Venice has to offer. A truly five-star...
Read moreWe had the focaccia two times in a row as a (late) breakfast. The place seems pretty new.
A good variety of well composed focaccia’s with proper Ingredients. Good coffee. We just loved it from beginning till end.
Very friendly staff. They have sometimes a hard time to follow up with all the orders, but that is because they are a victim of their own quality products and succes. When you are on holiday it should be no problem to wait 5 minutes longer. But waiting time was not over 15 minutes.
We passed by in the evening before going to the restaurant and decided to ask if they could make us a little aperitivo accompanied with a beer. Although it is not their business they made us some well antipasta of ham and cheese. That was very kind.
And, to me very important, hygiene is very good and they have a proper clean toilet.
If you are in Mestre. Don’t miss this place. Walk 5 minutes from the station and enjoy...
