Shinrajuku — Local services in Asuka

Spacious and nicely decorated house. I loved to sit on the comfortable wooden chair facing the field outside. I felt sorry that I was late for about 15min and it was raining. When I drove to the road outside, Mr Ikegawa was standing there holding umbrellas waiting for us. The place was nice and clean. If you want to spend some time just sitting there, reading, watching the scenery outside, it is the choice. If your itinerary is shopping and sightseeing and only want a place to sleep, you would waste your money. Mr Ikegawa is helpful and he helped me reserve a table at a nice restaurant. One thing is it's location. You better drive there and the parking space is about 5min walk from the house. That said, I still recommend it to people planning to spend days in Nara, not those just want to storm the city...

Within minutes of arriving I always feel chilled out and relaxed. This beautiful house is situated in a lovely little village in an active farming area. There is no noise other than the air conditioning. The host Ikegawa san is super friendly and helpful. A fantastic stay every time I have visited. This time we organised bike hire with Ikegawa san and this was a new experience. I would recommend cycling through the lovely Asuka village and surrounding country side. There are dedicated cycling routes. Google does not know them unfortunately and it is often better to select walking rather than driving if you want the most scenic...
