Tsurunoyu — Local services in Honshu

We are keen fans of the Japanese Onsens and public baths and we have been to many during our month and a half in Japan. And also during our previous visit 7 years ago. So we were intrigued when we read that this public bath is the last one existing in Fukushima! We made the effort to go there...about 25 minutes walk from the train station. It is very small and very old school, but we LOVED it because it is totally unpretentious and felt like something from an old movie. Old Japanese music played. It only cost 450 yen. The old lady and her son were very friendly and helpful. When we finished we went for a beer at the small bar next door which is run by the son, Hideki Katagiri. It was only him and his good friend Satosi Nazaki there. It turned out to be a very enjoyable evening! We communicated through google translate and we asked him to make us a few dishes of food. Everything was very delicious. He also gave us fresh cherries, home made pickles and little bacon rolls on the house. His friend Satoshi even bought us an amazing Sashimi as a gift! Thank you (Satoshi). Also thank you Hideki for the gift! Hideki told us that his family had this business for 110 years! How wonderful and amazing is that!!!! 2024.9 夜 銭湯 ...

普通の銭湯です。 Lサイズワゴン車で行ったのですが、早い時間（１７時ぐらい）でしたので２台ほど枠が空いていましたが結構きついです。 中に入ると気さくな店主がおり、入浴代４５０円を支払います。 シャンプーや石鹸は無いので必要な方は購入してください。 更衣室には鍵付きのロッカーがあり、窓側には休憩用の長椅子も有りますが、入れ墨をした方が寝ていて利用できませんでした。 入れ墨を入れる方は公衆浴場の利用は日本ではできないところが多いことを承知でやってほしい。 浴室には洗い場と湯船、バブリング風呂、電気風呂があり、洗い場はお湯と水のカランと固定式のシャワーが有ります。 固定式のシャワーは使いにくいのでホース式に変えて欲しい。 電気風呂は若干弱いが、女風呂の方は痛いくらい強いらしい。 ドライヤーは有りますが有料で確か２００円（ちと高い） 湯上りにコーヒー牛乳（１５０円）...
