I have bought many many tenugui and furoshiki from Nijiyura. Their designs are nothing but unique. There is something for everyone, from the quietly whimsical to bold geometrics and striking flower designs. Unlike nearly every other furoshiki shop in well-touristed areas, this company is local to Kansai and not widely distributed outside of the area. It is a boutique company that caters to local tastes rathe than cliche touristy images. The company is based in Osaka, and there are stores in Kobe, Kyoto, and one in Tokyo. I have seen their goods occasionally in other cities, but they are truly different from the other furoshiki brands that can be found nearly anywhere in Japan. I highly, highly recommend Nijiyura. I often give their furoshiki as gifts and they are always well received. The designs are so beautiful and the staff always kindly remembers me, even after a long time! 💚
