Good but not great, it was different from what I expected.

I tried Kobe Beef Ramen Yazawa because it was popping up so often on socials as one of the better places to eat in Kobe.

Ordered the Kobe Beef Steak Bowl & Kobe Beef Ramen set meal. The set meal came with 2 pieces of kobe beef sushi, braised Kobe Beef entree, Kobe Beef with some rice bowl, and Kobe Beef Ramen at a price of 3060 ¥

The Kobe Beef sushi was okay, the beef was lightly cooked on the outside and pink on the inside, very very chewy, not melt in your mouth taste.

The braised or slow cooked Kobe Beef bowl was very tender and delicious wished they gave more of it, the sauce was sweet.

The Kobe Beef steak rice bowl was few pieces of just before medium cooked Kobe Beef served on a small scoop of rice. The beef, again, was extremely chewy. Make sure to drizzle tiny bit of soy sauce with this to add a little extra.

Finally, the Kobe Beef Ramen, it was delicious, meat was tender, and noodles al dente, with the broth very tasty and mild.

Overall, good but the chewiness was not very nice and the price is quite expensive...

Chanced upon this charming hole in the wall Ramen joint at 10pm. We were really lucky that we didn't have to queue (judging by the day's queueing document outside the shop) and were the last customers of the night before they closed at 1030pm. This Kobe Beef Ramen was mind-blowing for me not because it was chilly and I was hungry, but because at the first sip of the beef broth, I was transported back home. A good dose of fried shallots to accentuate the broth further, some coarse pepper, and a generous serving of beef slices made me go to heaven and not want the meal to end. On the other hand, I wasn't too impressed with the shop's Number 1 item, the Shio (Salt) based Ramen. Though it came with interesting side dishes and even a beef sushi, I think those were just accompaniments and didn't bring anything substantial to the main dish. Also had the Kobe Beef Chutoro sushi at 800¥ a piece, and it was 800¥ well spent.

All in all, highly...

Want to dive into trying Kobe beef but not sure where to begin? This place offers a good sample set for < ¥2000 (before taxes) for the uninitiated/undecided. What’s more, it’s located near Kobe’s major shopping area and chinatown. The value for money sampler set serves kobe beef in sushi, ramen, and stewed beef tendon (with rice!) forms, and the meat is absolutely delish in all the formats served! 10/10 will recommend to anyone who wants to give Kobe beef a try but are unsure of where to start. There’s also a more pricey set that includes a wagyu steak—but I think the ‘basic’ sample set already serves more than enough food to leave your stomach full and satisfied. Like most eateries, space for seating is limited. Not for patrons with large luggages, prams, or wheelchairs. Largest seating space available is for 4 pax (and there are only a couple of tables with this option).
