Kurashiki Station — Local services in Kurashiki

The middle-aged lady wearing glasses who was in the JR office was the worst. She was only nice to Caucasians. I was in line watching how she was dealing with white couple. She was nice to them. So I assumed she would be also nice to me who is an Asian. It was finally my turn, I approached to her saying hi but she didn't reply and didn't smiled. Anyway, I asked a question and she replied shortly but I didn't understand what she just said. So I tried to communicate using a translation app. But she just kept her mouth zipped! I had to leave the JR office being panicked. Thankfully, my friend met a nice train conductor outside of the office. He solved our problem. Without his help, We would've lost some money and time. I thought we had to buy another ticket but it turned out it was covered by JR west pass. I still don't understand why she kept her mouth shut. Would she have been nice to me if there had been another customers or other JR officer? She didn't seem notice my two friends were watching outside...

A station whose entrance is at 2nd floor. What's in the station concourse is modest but it's at the back of the station that's interesting. It offers a walkable path to the huge Mitsui shopping center. The plaza itself is decorated with quite a Northern Europe flair , find ur little mermaid here!! Also, there is a statue of a gent in a top hat, I think there is a history between him and this city. This city is famous for its historical town, well deserves its name of Kurashiki...

Kurashiki took me by surprise—in a good way. It’s unlike the typical Japanese towns I’ve been to.
