Round 1 — Local services in Otsu

Four of us bought two bowling games with a soft drink bar. The staff asked for receipts multiple times and kept harassing us pretending they do not understand their own machine-issues receipts and accusing us of stealing drinks. The manager printed out another receipt showing that we all indeed purchased a soft drink bar option. Because of how rude the staff were about this, we assumed that we are not welcome. The claw games / UFO catchers are an absolute ripoff here. There seems to be no payout grip no matter how much money is put into the machine. I spent about ￥6000 and had to have a lot of assistance from the staff just to win one. The difficulty setting is way to high on the machines here. I noticed everyone else was having this problem as well and there are very few people walking around with prizes.

But the staff is very friendly and willing to help people.

Situated next to Hamaotsu train station, there is plenty of fun to be had. Spo cha has a lot of sports games that adults and children can have fun with. Not only that, but they have arcade games, a multi-use space for roller skating and go karting, and even karaoke rooms!

I spent just under 3000 yen for 3 hours (excluding the drink bar option), but you don't really need it as the venue has multiple drinks vending machines...
