Omiya is a major stop for the bullet trains. There are many good restaurants nearby as well. So when traveling to Japan or if you are a resident, Omiya is a very convenient place no matter where you want to go. Besides, some buses go to Narita Haneda Airport and Disneyland.
I highly recommend purchasing the five-day pass for the JR East Tohoku Area at Omiya Station.
This pass gives you unlimited JR train and Shinkansen rides. It's a great value and you'll save money and time on the road.

It's a very beautiful area and we loved every place we visited, especially Aizuwakamatsu. We mainly took the Shinkansen to travel to the next place or hotel.
I suggest that you stay in a hotel near the station. Moreover, you should stay two nights at Aizuwakamatsu. This will allow you to visit more places nearby which we did not have time to see on our trip.
I hope you will find this information useful for your future...

Once I arrived, I had to get upstairs and asked staff for help to make sure I was in the...
