My overall experience with Chubu Centrair Airport itself was excellent, and it deserves a high rating. The airport is modern, clean, and well-organized, and the airport staff I interacted with were all polite and helpful. ​However, the start of my trip was unfortunately marred by a deeply unprofessional encounter with a male immigration officer on August 9, 2025, around 6:10 AM (at one of the far-left counters). He was initially non-verbal and unhelpful. When I made a mistake at the fingerprint scanner due to the lack of instructions, he didn't offer assistance but instead shouted at me aggressively in Japanese, "Nani shiteru no?!" ("What are you doing?!"). This was an incredibly intimidating and humiliating welcome to Japan. ​Feeling very upset, I later wrote a formal complaint about this incident. I must commend the airport's customer service team for their prompt and professional response. They apologized for the experience I had within their facilities and, crucially, informed me that the Immigration Bureau is a separate government entity not operated by the airport company. I genuinely appreciate them taking the time to explain this and for providing me with a direct link to file my feedback with the correct authorities. ​Therefore, I am giving the airport itself four stars. This rating is for the high-quality facilities, the helpfulness of the airport's own staff, and the outstanding customer service I received after my complaint. ​The one star is deducted because of the severe negative impact of the immigration officer's behavior on the total arrival experience. Our recent experience at Chubu Centrair International Airport was an excellent start to our adventure in Japan. We arrived early in the morning after a red-eye flight, and despite the long journey, our kids were too excited to rest. The airport’s well-organized and welcoming environment made our arrival smooth and enjoyable.

One of the highlights of our time at Centrair Airport was exploring the top floor shopping zone while waiting for our rental car. The variety of shops and eateries provided a fun and engaging way to spend time before heading out on the road. From unique souvenirs to delicious snacks, the shopping area offered a great selection that catered to all of our interests. The kids were particularly fascinated by the interactive displays and the lively atmosphere.
