I love CASE Shinjuku! I recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, bright and airy space to work. Morishita and her staff was very welcoming and helpful even when we would do something wrong (we aren’t Japanese and can’t read the signs about coffee, exits, etc). Their English was also good and we were able to communicate fairly well.
The drop-in space easily accommodated my team of 13 people and we had plenty of free outlets and monitors available for use. The noise level was low and we were able to be productive. The music selection was good and when it wasn’t, they were happy to change it. There were also a few nice perks like a vending machine and a lunch event. For a quick lunch, KFC was on the first floor, Lawson’s across the street, and a wealth of restaurants all around.
The only cons I can think of was that the WiFi went out a few times for a few minutes during our 5 days there. Otherwise, everything else was perfect! Overall, a unique place to work and meet...
Read moreCASE Shinjuku is a friendly and inclusive coworking space located a few stops from Shinjuku station. The large drop-in workspace has an airy cafe vibe with shared tables, private tables and a booth for making calls, while the member's room is a quiet space with proper desks. I've always found the wifi fast and easy to connect to, and they also provide external monitors to use for free. The staff and many members speak English, and work in a variety of industries like IT, publishing and entertainment. I love how they promote Japanese culture and also organise events like Friday drinks and seasonal or cultural parties. It's really a great place to meet people and make the most of your time in Japan even while you're working. I always enjoy coming back here whenever I'm in Tokyo, and I highly recommend it!
Takadanobaba itself is a really lively hub with loads of food and drink options, and it's great to be able to try so many different places for lunch and...
Read moreI cannot highly recommend this whole workspace more for any foreigners visiting. It is mainly Japanese who work out of there but they are open to foreigners. You can just do a single day drop-in or sign up for a few months if you're staying longer. Unlike most co-working spaces, they aren't a big chain and are very personable and friendly.
If you're trying to look for it, you need to use the door on...
