住宅街にひっそりと佇む神社です。創建は1030年とされていますが定かではありません。休日でも訪れる人は少なく、また周囲が住宅地であることからとても静かであるため、ゆったりとした気持ちで参拝することが出来ます。しかし、境内には休憩できるようなベンチも少なく、また駅前等に行かなければカフェやレストラン等の飲食できるところも無いため、この神社を散策のスポットに利用する人は多くないかもしれません。 小高い丘に建てられているため、境内から街並みを眺めることが出来るものの、神社の周辺はマンションも多く、あまり期待しすぎない方がいいでしょう。

1000年の歴史がある神社だそうですが、貴重な鎮守の森の木々を伐採し、マンションを建設するそうです。 経営難だからマンションの家賃収入で生計を立てるそうで、氏子は反対したけど宮司が決行したという内容をネット記事で見ました。都内においては森林、しかも鎮守の森の木々は貴重なものです。伐採してマンションを建てるなんて罰当たりとしか思えません。 都内の守護も兼ねている神社、そして鎮守の森を破壊する行為はその土地を破壊する行為です。 鎮守の森のある土地は地震や災害に強いといいます。それはそこにあるクヌギやら楠木だったりその土地の広葉樹が地中深くまで根をはり巡らし、土地を守るからです。でも木を切ってしまえば地盤は軟弱化するでしょう。
