Okinawa craft industry promotion center or おきなわ工芸の杜 Free parking, very new big building We had a great experience doing indigo dye. Indigo dye costs 2500yen depending on the number of dipping. Dark blue is more expensive—¥3000. so fun, kind lady, very reasonable price. Bring home high quality indigo that you make yourself so cheap for everything. The cotton towel is not ordinary cotton. It is itself a high quality fabric made in Okinawa and not just simply sewn. It took about 1 hour to finish so for 2500yen this is already so cheap considering we took home a very high quality indigo dye cotton towel. Thank you for this wonderful experience. Visited the craft center today and it was amazing! This centre does not only have an exhibition and a shop of locally produced crafts, but you can meet the artisans there, watch them while they are working and even try few things by yourself! The highlight was that I was able to dye my own scarf with real Okinawa Indigo for a totally affordable price. The lady at the dying workshop was very kind and explained everything very thoroughly.
