Tsuruoka Station — Local services in Tsuruoka

The people in Tsuruoka are very calm and pleasant to deal with. The station staff are really nice; and so are the Koban police officers. The city has a very gentle character. The food is probably the most fresh in Japan as the farming communities and sea of Japan provide fresh vegetables and fish respectively. It belongs the big station in Shonai Area. Not really busy, waiting room is cozy, souvenir stores are available, and the officers are helpful. Stamp is available in the corner of waiting room, near the information display television. Some instruction are in english so it's really helpful for foreigner. The main station for the Shonai Region with lots of hotels and restaurants nearby. There is also a good and tourist center called FOODEVER right next to it that has a special bar featuring sake from the Shonai Region.
