I've ordered from Denimio many times and I appreciate their prices and quick shipping times, but that to me is the standard. A company's reputation is made by how it handles problems.
Denimio has a rewards program which is based on your purchases over the last year and is applied to a specific sale period. Last year, when checking my status, I was told my purchases would be applied to the following year rather than the current year, so I waited. This year, I was told that I hadn't made enough purchases to have the loyalty status I was expecting. I was a little annoyed that this was the case and I accepted that the first info was probably incorrect and I missed my chance. A few weeks later, Tom reached out to let me know that they had conducted an internal investigation and elevated my status to where it would have been last year. It was very nice that they investigated and followed up on an issue I thought was closed.
When I did order, there was an issue with processing my credit card and I had to re-order items that had since been sold out (because I bought the last ones). Nick and Tom worked with me to get the items back on the website so I could re-order them. They were apologetic and worked to make sure the items were sent in a single package (despite having to be ordered separately) and refunded me for the discount that was no longer available when I re-ordered. When I received my package, there was a Denimio laundry bag included which I assume was an apology gift which was unnecessary but much appreciated.
Thanks very much, Denimio and especially...
Read moreIf you trying to get here, best way is by train to Tennocho station and then it’s a pleasant 10 mins walk to the shop. It feels like you’re walking in a quiet charming little suburb of Yokohama.
When I visited the store it was my last day in Japan so this was my last chance to get a pair of Momotaro jeans which was top of my holiday bucketlist. In hindsight coming here was such a pleasure and an excellent decision.
Firstly the customer service. They were very welcoming and extremely helpful. I wanna praise and give appreciation to Kazu (I think that’s his name) who helped me out on the day. Extremely helpful, didn’t speak a tonne of English but did his best and represents the best of what Japanese customer service is.
I spent a good hour browsing the store and trying on different jeans, but luckily found a pair that fit me and they even helped out getting me the tax free price (I didn’t even bring it up, Kazu took care of everything). They also helped out with the hemming and for ¥3000 used DHL Express to ship it back to my home in Australia (only took 1 week to arrive!).
This store truly is a gem and possibly the best stores I visited on my trip. I was extremely happy with the hemming and the jeans were packaged professionally and came with an awesome Denimio bag. I would gladly purchase more products from this store and hope one day can come back and...
Read moreDenimio has to be one of the best denim shops in the world. The store is small, but they stock the shelves to the brim with a wide variety of high-end Okayama and Kojima-based Japanese denim brands and styles. I am not a denim connoisseur, but be aware, those more accustomed to pre-worn or stretchy off-the-rack styles may find raw denim uncomfortable or unforgiving. The craftsmanship and fabric of Japanese brands, however, is top notch and definitely worth a try for the adventurous and discerning. They also have a decent selection of shirts and jackets. If you are in town for a few days, they will also tailor your pair to fit.
The wonderful shop attendants are the real experts and super willing to help you find the right pair. They will make every attempt to accommodate English-speaking customers, so we felt in no way intimidated. The store is also a bit far from the touristy parts of Yokohama and they went the extra mile (pun intended) to make sure I caught the right bus back to the city center.
Excellent experience and...
