I visited KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital Dato' Onn due to severe eczema all over my body. From the moment I arrived, the registration process was smooth and efficient, without any overcrowding. The consultation with the doctor was quick, and the explanations were clear and easy to understand. My Guarantee Letter (GL) was approved within five minutes, and I was assigned a room in the newly built Aurora Ward, which is equipped with advanced facilities.
Parking & Lobby The hospital provides spacious and free parking, both in the basement and outdoor areas. Multiple elevators are available at convenient locations, making movement easier. The lobby is clean, comfortable, beautifully designed, and has a pleasant fragrance.
Registration & Admission Process The registration and admission process is fast and well-organized, ensuring minimal congestion. The counters are efficiently managed, and assistants are available to guide patients through every step. Upon admission, nurses warmly welcome patients and escort them to their assigned rooms.
Aurora Ward – Room Facilities The Aurora Ward offers spacious single-bed rooms with modern facilities. KPJ ensures all rooms are single-bed, but different types of rooms are available depending on individual or family needs. Family members are allowed to stay with the patient throughout their ward stay.

But bad hospital's management, particularly the CEO, has shown a lack of concern for staff, patients, and customer requests. Terrible !
During my March admission, despite requesting early discharge, they held us for 7-8hours citing insurance delays, and waiting for CEO approval for early discharge request and unfortunately no response from him. The reason I was frustrated is because I've called to insurance company and actually the insurance company has replied them 2-3hours ago and they don't realised that. Both of them billing staff sitting there nothing to do as you know kpj dato onn is not crowded like other hospital. Only suddenly releasing us after I became frustrated and complained and scold at the billing counter, after 8hours of waiting. (Asked us to pay deposit and go) The problem is why not doing this earlier? Why suddenly allowed only when I angry and scold? The billing is only Rm3k plus..
The inefficiency continued during my recent surgery two days ago, with delays in processing insurance claims and obtaining management approval for discharge. (From 21/4 ,1pm doctor said can discharge, and held us at the room till next day 22/4 morning , and till 10am still no response yet. Waited one day for insurance claim, do you understand what I mean? Waited 1day at the room !!!)
This contrasts with other hospitals I've been to (regency, kpj puteri, kpj Johor), which promptly discharged me upon payment of a deposit (without needed to request for early discharge at all.)
The CEO of kpj dato onn unresponsiveness and lack of clear direction further exacerbate the situation, leaving staff confused and unable to act. My attempt to confront the CEO during a staff event on 22/4 was met with evasion until I made a scene at their staff event, insisted to meet the CEO directly,at which point suddenly pulak they agreed to discharge me upon payment of a deposit.
Why always need to wait till people angry and scold only you allowed to discharged us with deposit? Keep on saying need CEO approval la, your amount is too big need higher position then CEO which is CFO to approve la, then UFO la... Bla bla bla...
No wonder this kpj dato onn not many patient, as I definitely won't recommend people to go there.
Overall, the hospital's management needs significant improvement to prioritize patient care and streamline process.
