Melaka Holiday Part 1 - Seremban Central Market for breakfast

It was a trip months in planning. Not an easy fit as it involved 3 families and 3 elderly - making mobility and convenience big factors to consider when it comes to going around and having breakfast/lunch/dinner.

On the first day, everyone was to gather at Seremban Central Market for breakfast before heading down to Melaka together. My first time here and I underestimated the amount of profanities that came out of my mouth when looking for parking spot.

◾Roast pork belly from 福记 was probably the first thing that we saw heading up the stairs leading to this popular food court above the wet market. Quickly tapao-ed and thank God we did - tasted just like good old school siew yuk with crispy skin and most importantly kept everyone satiated while waiting for other dishes to be served. ◾Tai Fei Fei Lou Shu Fun - we chose this place based on convenience and our initial choice Tow Kee was too long (queue) and barely moving. What do I know? It turned out good.. the Lou Shu Fun didn't look like one at all, as a matter of fact like long thick rice noodle; plus the Hakka noodle here was like Mee pok - however both noodle dishes were tasty. ◾Seremban Beef Noodle - unbelievably long queue at this infamous stall but had no choice because one elderly wanted to try. Based on his feedback, the soup was clear and "ching ching" type and all the ingredients were fresh and cooked nicely with thick rice noodle. Consider as the central market in Seremban/N.Sembilan. 2 storey markets with wet and dry market. The ground floor provide vegetables, meats, fresh seafoods, dry food, fruits,daily use items etc. from various stalls. The pork stall is allocate isolated in different building next to the main building. After the fire incident about past 3-4years, after re-build the market looks more clean, comfortable and organise. The first floor provide a food court with famous local foods like beef noodle, Hakka noodles, squid beehon , coffee/drink stalls, snack etc. Clothing ,shoes , house hold items , eggs stalls etc also in first floor. A famous Seremban Pasar Cendol track is at the car park provide a good taste and delicious Cendol since morning. The car parking in the Pasar have to pay with coupon at 60cents per hour. The local authority are very frequently patrol on the car parking to prevent traffic jam. Very clean and neat, more organised especially at the 1st floor after renovation due to fire accident few years back. The toilets management needs drastic...

Although limited parking space after the fire, it is still the best place to buy vegetables. They are fresh, reasonably priced n many stalls to choose from.. One can shop for anything under ONE roof. Grocery shops to meet the needs of various races. Poultry- chicken, mutton, beef, pork not forgetting an array of sea food. Fruit stalls greet you at the entrance of the market. You name it you have it. You want to make rendang or nasi lemak one can get scrapped coconut or coconut extract including kerisik. For Indian shoppers who want traditional vegetables like 'mana thakkali, avathi keerei, avarakkai' banana stem, banana flower, 'murunggei leaves', drumstick n thairu, Pasar Seremban is highly recommended.
