Pelangi Beach Resort Cherating — Local services in Pahang

TBH..i think this resort has so many potentials..it has good location, close to beach and has tropical kampung vibes. The staff is friendly at least.and a makcik try to introduce us good food and activities around...

But unfortunately the management on the resort is not pleasant. Here some of their problems.

Red Flag 1 🚩- When we arrive, it didnt have anything OYO resemblance which is very fishy.

Red Flag 2🚩- the PIC asked us to pay extra service fee during our check-in although we already pay it thru the Agoda platform. Also fishy.but we paid anyway

Red Flag 3 🚩- on the 1st day staying, we immediately noticed the overall facilities is in a very poor condition, old furnitures..bed, broken wooden floor, dusty room and worst, no water at night.

Red Flag 4 🚩- On the 2nd day evening we went back to our rooms after our beach activities, a COCONUT punctured through our roof and ceiling ..Leaving a big hole, it just shows how poor condition the room is.

Red Flag 5 🚩- the PIC wanted to charge us compensation for the broken floor and borken furniture.. which is already in such poor condition and broke from the very start we move in.

Red Flag 6 🚩- we wanted cancel our stay and change to another hotel on the 2nd night. We request for refund but fail

We decided not to bother the refund further..So we move on to another stay immediately.

I can see they struggling to maintain the place..We spent rm750 on 3 rooms 2 nights for 12ppl which is ridiculous cheap.. but to be Frank u won't find any where as cheap as this resort..The stay around the area is a bit overpriced I would say...The PIC is kind so I do hope they improve over time.

But for now ..I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there. Wish...

I booked from 1st Sept to 3rd Sept, however, the hotel was fully booked on my arrival, the hotel farmed me out to another hotel for that day and I only managed to stay on second day. After I checked in, to my surprise, the room was really in bad shape and unacceptable.

TV was not working, water heater was not working, no electric cable connected to it, the toilet bowl was damaged and can't be used at all. We have to use water bucket to take our bath. I spoke to the person in charge, but no action was taken. This is really horrible, I've never come across such bad experience in other hotel in my whole life. I definitely will not stay at this hotel and I don't recommend for you to stay...

Damn Horrible Stay – Avoid Like Plague

Wah, this resort really jialat. Toilet spoil, aircon also not working, then the owner still dare to blame my family? Please lah, your place already falling apart, don’t push the fault to guests.

Security also damn lousy, can simply walk in one, kena attack by mosquitoes, then got monkeys running on the roof - thought I booked a resort, not a jungle sia.

Worst part? The owner damn rude, like just because you own the place means can treat people anyhow. Somemore no local engagement at all, zero effort to make guests feel welcome. Even locals cannot tahan, what more tourists?

Confirm not worth your money. Just go...
