Beautiful and colorful place, nice light music, it has a pleasant and welcoming ambience, staffs are friendly and responsive, they serve western and local delights, we ordered beet root plant based burger, thunder smoothies, hazelnut matcha and kula mango cheese cake, all food are excellently prepared except for the fried tempe in the beet root burger was not so fresh, Kula mango cheese cake is really recommended, rich, yummy and creamy, thunder smoothie is really yummy made of tropical fruits passion, pineapple and mango fruit, hazelnut matcha is a unique beverage to go to especially if you are a matcha lover, its light, cool and good thirst quench as its not too sweet, best part they do serve cold water in a water dispenser that you can help yourself with as weather is so hot in Cherating, all the salt, pepper, sauces and syrups are centralized near the cold water dispenser in the event you need to add more taste to your meals, we also paid a visit for the 2nd time the day before we leave Cherating, we ordered take away, fish and chips and aglio oglio chicken pasta with spinach, both are well done, hearty and delicious, you can save 10% if you bring your own tumbler and tupper ware, addition RM1 for the take away if we use their packaging, you will need to remove your footwear to enter this place, it gives you the feel like home kind of ambience when you enter this cozy cafe, love the relaxing aura of this place, Cafe Marion and Limbong Art is just opposite Ombok, plus Loca is a few blocks away, very strategic location for Cherating Beach side, food and tie dye attractions, thank you for serving us well both days, keep up the great service Ombok Cherating Surf Cafe, special thank you to Ms Coconut for a lovely warm service sending our take aways directly to our car as we can't dine due to having furries travelling with us, we will surely return, God bless...

30/6/24 - We had the nasi lemak and nasi dagang for breakfast. Then decided to stay a bit longer and ordered a portion of fries to be shared with the group while we played card games.

The waitress came with a plate of fries with toastie, when asked if this is how the fries should look like and if it came with the toastie, she said yes and left. We shrugged it off and shared the meal. Before we wanted to leave, a bowl of fries came to our table.

We explained to the waiter that we already accepted the earlier dish and even asked if this was the correct order to the previous server. The waiter just said in that case we had to pay for the previous dish as well and left the bowl of fries with us.

We paid as per told. However, we were extremely disappointed with how it was handled by the establishment. The waitress who initially served us sent the order to the wrong table and we barely received a sincere apology. In other places we wouldve been able to refuse and send the later dish back to the kitchen.

The food and coffee is average, apart from the nasi lemak which was really good, but we enjoyed the atmosphere of the cafe notwithstanding this situation. However, we hope these situations can be handled better by the cafe and to better train the staff on the layout. Understood also that miscommunication happens all the time, but customer service (speaking as someone who once also worked as a waitress) could definitely be better.
