Monterrey International Airport — Local services in Nuevo León

INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS BEWARE:

I have lived between the US and Mexico for many years now and anyone who travels here will know that thanks to ignorance, corruption runs deep within every part of society, the airport is no different.

I was compelled to write a review after noticing yet one more issue that the straw that broke the camels back. As of 26/08/17, the airport has unofficially disallowed competing taxi services such as Uber, Lift and Cabify to the airport as they cannot charge a premium on them. Iberdrivers have told me personally about Intimidation by other taxi services at the airport and even u we drivers turning up dead near the airport. Other than the ethical issues here, is the problem that the cost of getting from the airport to the center just went from a safe ride costing around $150pesos to a dangerous ride costing $350 and up. Taxi services from the airport drive dangerously, like really dangerously and there is absolutely no one you can talk to about, not even the drivers care as they are also part of this racket. If you don't want to contribute to the corruption and desire to not white knuckle your way to the centre, I suggest walking to terminal C (it's a short, 5 min walk) and buying a bus ticket which costs $85pesos, has good AC, comfy seats and they don't drive like the vehicle is stolen. Very unorganized . My family and I arrived 330 for 650 flight to McAllen Tx .. And me traveling wt my grandparents I need 2 wheelchairs .. we got one asap and while waiting to get Covid test to travel home .. Still no test by 430 and no wheelchair . After asking multiple times for extra wheelchair. Multiple times I asked agent wat time is someone coming to get covid test they informed us they were at lunch for us to go to terminal A to get the test before 6 PM for last check in on boarding that was at 5 PM. walked all way to Terminal A from Terminal B to get test 530 pm . Covid test laboratory informed us covid test lab in Terminal B closed at 4pm no one has been there since 3pm y didnt they just tell us to come straight to Terminal A for testing .. After this I asked wheelchair attendant if he could get more info I dnt want to loose our flights for just I person lying to us about someone taking lunch break .. this one soul was the only one really went out of his way to make sure we didnt loose our flight he made a few calls and and by 600 pm we were checking in for our flights.. wt clear negative covid results running Back to Terminal B to be on time to check in. Another thing I was forced out of my country the USA visiting you in Mexico with a Chase Bank account and a debit card. I'm sure someone there remembers my monitoring my spending keeping all reciepts converting my US$ to Pasos without any problem. Come to find out shortly after I left Chase Bank closed out my account with no advance notice and you don't have a CHASE Bank there and I would have been stranded in Mexico with no cash and no way to get anywhere.
