Evolve Gym Juarez — Local services in Playa del Carmen

Most pathetic attempt at a gym I have been to anywhere in the world! I tried not to write this review based on a number of factors which I will go through. The absolute last straw has come today when I have come in for my workout. I walked up to do my squats and the squat rack has been taken down?!?! How can you take down your only squat rack to paint?? I am now stuck with no equipment as this gym is lacking in actual functional and working equipment. 3 out of the 7 treadmills are operational, the others are broken. Even the working ones have buttons missing. There is not enough weight plates around the gym. There’s a mix between several brands of plates. Some in Kg, some in Lb. My bar is a joke set up with broken mixed plates. Secondly no bags are allowed into the weight room, they provide no basket even, so everyone has their towel, phones, waters and other gym equipment scattered around the floor. This place is not the ideal workout environment. It needs so much work to actually be a pleasant space...

It is a clean gym with sufficient equipment and good prices for a single visit or week pass. It wasn’t too crowded and no one was hogging equipment. I enjoyed working out there while visiting my family. My only complaints were that 1) the music is way too loud, especially at the dumbbell area where the speakers are - not necessary when 90% of people have their headphones anyway 2) they are militant about bringing a towel. I had to walk all the way home to get one to enter and when I did get in, only half the people there were using a towel. I told the employee this and she said you just need it to enter, which is ridiculous. I would still go back. Chedraui has 60peso nice cotton towels. get one instead of their ugly...
