Horrible manager, probably the one of the worst services we have ever received. My family and myself have been loyal customers to Cheesters for the past 7 years. I can assure you, we won’t be coming back. After living abroad, my dad wanted to treat us to a family reunion lunch at Cheesters - we came with no reservation around 4pm. The restaurant was practically empty, so when we came to the entrance we met with the manager and asked if it was open. He rudely replied “Yes, WHY?”. Well, because we wanted to know if it was open or not so we could dine in. We ignored the rude response and happily sat down inside in the AC area. We were 4 persons, and the table was a bit small. After ordering almost 2,000 pesos worth of food (for about 6 people), we politely asked if we could sit at a bigger table because we couldn’t fit all the food. The waiter said no, because the other tables were reserved for 6 people. The restaurant was absolutely EMPTY. So we pleaded for an exemption so we could eat comfortably, because - if you’ve ever eaten here before - you know the plates are BIG. He brought over the manager, and we asked him nicely to help us out because the food had to be eaten on top of other plates (I’ll attach the photo below). He basically told us to not ask again, that there was nothing he could do, and we should stop whining about the situation because they had added another small table nearby for us (which was unnecessary and made the experience 1000x more uncomfortable. Plus, it was dirty.) So we had to eat with clutter, uncomfortable, and very upset with the service we had. If you read the rest of the reviews, the manager, Alberto, has also had lots of complaints for his bad service and treatment forwards customers. Very unfortunate that this place had ruined our family reunion and our afternoon. We won’t be coming back.

Amazing place, delicious pasta and drinks (I had pineapple and ginger water). You pay quite a lot for one pasta, but it's big enough to share between 3 people. As a complimentary starter you get warm bread with butter on the side and side of spicy (I MEAN SPICY) salsa. Great place to come with friends and spend some nice time. It would be 5 stars, but I didn't like the "rules" written on the massive wall that you need to leave the tips, that customer is not always right, that if you want to change any ingredients it's better if you cook at home or if you don't have 30-40 minutes to wait for your pasta, go somewhere else. I know it suppose to be funny, but it sounds like "eat, pay and leave without any comments". It's not necessary Mr or Mrs owner, you have really great staff, lovely food and it's just silly in my opinion.

Good pasta, massive portions and delicious starters/salads. I’ve been there a couple of times and tried a lot of their dishes. While the pasta was good, in taste, the portion just caught most of the attention, even while eating since it looked endless. For most of the dishes you get a whole pot, which should be shared between two people as for one it’s a bit too much. The menu is greatly designed, showing as well the type of pasta that is used. In comparison with the price, you get a worthy meal to fill your stomach completely. The staff is nice and helpful as well.

I almost never write reviews about places but this place was one of our biggest disappointments in terms of food EVER. We visited this place attracted by thousands of great reviews but it was huge DISAPPOINTMENT. We received table for two which appears to be dirty (on both chairs there were leftovers from last customers- some pieces of pasta, since nobody cleaned it we just swapped chairs and sat anyway then my girlfriend put her hand on the table and dipped it in some kind of sauce- probably again leftovers from previous customers.) Then we ordered for starter Rollitos frida kahlo , main dish pasta margarita and to drink naranjada and Copacabana smoothie. When waiting for food we received two pieces of bread with 2 sauces ( one spicy was ok but the other one cheesy tasted like margarine it was just made of very poor quality of products). Then beverages arrived, smoothie was good, naranjada came warm and with one ice cube inside which melted almost immediately, on top of that waiter bring bootle of water we didn’t order ( we agreed to say nothing cause it’s just bottle of water and everybody can make mistakes). When our rolls arrived we were excited but not for long, first bite and we could feel lots of fat/grease coming out from them - I understand rolls were deep fried but this was insane it felt like they were swimming in grease for whole day. When our main dish arrived we hoped that pasta will be at least good but again it was just poor quality of pasta, broken spaghetti with lack of flavour (all ingredients inside poor quality for example cheese no flavour, skins of tomatoes in pasta ) and it was soaking in OIL- in general it was disgusting meal, we paid our bill and just left place super unsatisfied. Also worth to mention that service was not attentive and it was very difficult to ask about something or add something to our order. Toilets are...

Very good place, I highly recommend it when the family comes to Playa del Carmen, the service is almost impeccable, they are always attentive and if you need something they give it to you with a good language, between formal and casual, the truth is that the people who attend are always the same and give you a nice experience, they give you bread before your food arrives and two dips, one spicy and one normal. If you order pasta and your pasta takes a long time, they let you know when you order it that it takes a long time and they give you an approximate time when it will come out and be delivered. There is music that creates a very nice atmosphere and there is the possibility to be outside or inside the restaurant, all this is explained to you by the person (the waiter) who takes you to your table. As for the food, it is exquisite, there are pastas for all kinds of people according to their tastes, there are vegetarian, vegan, salads, etc.. All of them are very tasty, even the vegan ones you can order if you are not vegan because they are very tasty, there are also salads, pizzas, etc. There is a great variety of drinks, there are milkshakes, pink lemonade, natural juices, soft drinks they have but very few, etc, etc. Very good restaurant, well stocked with all Italian food, excellent service, overall a first class restaurant and very nice...
