Winkelcentrum Boven 't Y — Local services in Amsterdam

Considering I've lived near it for all my life, I can wholeheartedly say that the place is OK, it's not bad, not particularly good. It's alright.

Over the years the place has become rather boring to be honest tho. Most of the old stores have gone out of business while some did remain. There are so many stores that sell phones, glasses, clothing, yet no tool shop or more stores where you can buy hardware. From what I hear Intertoys is also almost going out of business. So what about the kids? Where do they get their toys, games or consoles and such.

The shopping market has vast number of shops covering all necessities of daily life. From cheap but quality product stores like Action to big grocery stores like Jumbo, Lidl and Albert Hein, it's all their. Not much of a choice for eating though if you're from a background like mine but they still have from McDonald's (recent addition) to a few cafeterias and outlets like Turkish stores and Hema. Buikslotermeerplein is NOT what it used to be. Stores are shutdown, and the vibe was not a pleasant one. I am surprised to see that the HEMA was still up and running and they are doing well. I had a shoarma roll from some place I don't even remember the name and I threw it away.
