Checking into the hotel was super quick and easy, the only thing i would comment on is the lack of information verbally given about the facilities but it is already written down for you on the card they provide. Staff are always nice and friendly and always greeted you when entering/leaving the building. They also provide umbrellas which are nice and sturdy for rainy days!||The hotel itself is really nice and modern inside, our room was on the 8th floor facing the buildings out the front, but we could never hear anything from out there. You couldn’t hear any noise from outside the hotel room which was really nice and allowed us to sleep well. The room was always cleaned and the cleaners did a good job of making sure it was spotless. The hotel provides towelling robes and slippers which is a nice touch. The TV in the room was really good, it had wifi you could connect to and YouTube which was nice as we could listen to music while we got ready for the day. There was an option for bed and breakfast which we didn’t take so I cannot comment on the food, but i’m pretty sure it shares the same dining facilities as the Tribe next door and the same bar and gym.||The only negative I could comment on is he fact that at 7:20am on the friday morning, we were woken up by the hotel fire alarm blasting through the speakers in our room. We had to go through the fire escape down 8 levels and once we reached the reception area absolutely nobody was down there and everybody was just going about their day? Very confusing, staff didn’t even acknowledge that it’d happened so no idea what actually went on, but it left us very confused lol.||Just opposite the hotel there is a small corner shop. About a 10 minute walk away there is a small shopping square called Boven’t Y, it has a handful of supermarkets which was handy for getting a few snacks for the room and water, and there were some fast food places like McDonalds and KFC. There’s also a small station shop in Noord station. When it came to checking out, we left our luggage with the receptionists in the luggage room as we had a late flight back so didn’t need to be at the airport until a lot later in the day. The staff were very kind and accommodating even tho we had checked out, and even gave us a bottle of water for the journey home. ||The hotel itself is really nice and modern inside, our room was on the 8th floor facing the buildings out the front, but we could never hear anything from out there. We booked this hotel as we previously have stayed in the Tribe, which is next door, and liked the area and the distance from all the main places in Amsterdam. We got the to the hotel using public transport - train to Centraal station from the airport, then Metro 52 to Noord (last stop). This hotel isn’t far from Centraal or Dam Square, but it’s obviously not within walking distance from it. If you walk out the front of the hotel and turn left, about 30 seconds down the road you’ll find Station Noord which takes you straight to Centraal Station (or further) within 10 - 15 minutes, if that. The Metros at this station are pretty regular as well so you don’t have to do much waiting around for them, and we found ourselves frequently using it to go and and forth and have a break from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam in the day. I would 100% recommend getting the travel passes from Centraal Station, it cost us €37 each for 144 hours and it allows you to freely use all of the Metros, Trams, Busses and Ferries which is extremely helpful for getting in all the fun activities done that are around Amsterdam.||I would 100% recommend anybody to stay at this hotel and would definitely revisit if i came back to Amsterdam for...
Read moreUnfortunately our experience with the hotel was not so positive, strangers entering our room, rooms not cleaned, weed smoke in hallway.
I booked 3 nights for me and our 13year old daughter.
Day 1, We arrived and checked in, the receptionist girl was super friendly but we were not given a lot of information, just the basics, here are the room keys, your room number, breakfast times and if there is any questions you can come down to reception. Not a big deal as we thought all info would be probably in the room. We got to the room and it looked very nice. I decided to relax a little and took a nap on the bed, my daughter was sitting on the chair also relaxing. After about an hour someone knocks the door and my daughter says, we are in here, thinking it was housekeeping. After the knock immediately a couple enters and walks in our room and the lady yells why are you in our room?!? I was lying in bed and woke up in total shock, my daughter and I both said, this is our room, the lady replies, no this is our room. The couple left and I wanted to call reception for help. I couldn’t find the phone, there are none in the rooms. We both were so shocked and scared by this and I called my husband who calmed me down and told us to go to reception immediately. When we came down the lady was taking with the receptionist and was about to walk off, I said, hey you were just in our room! It’s ok said the receptionist and the couple left. I still didn’t understand what was going on, I never had this happen to me in a hotel and I found it very frightening as I was traveling alone with our daughter and was lying in bed asleep when they walked in. Reception apologized and said it was a mistake and she was going to get the manager. We waited and the manager (a man) apologized. We got new room keys and a voucher for a welcome drink at the bar. This experience was horrible for us and also the way they just brushed it off as if it was nothing, no big deal just a technical mistake. I know I was also at fault for not putting the dead bolt on, a thing I will never forget again from now on.
Day 2, The first night I slept very bad because of what had happened the day before. We enjoyed the breakfast, very much. We left and came back from town later in the day and the hallway stank very bad of weed smoke. We notified reception and they said someone would check it out. Our beds were made and there were clean towels and a new roll of toilet paper. The floor had not been vacume cleaned unfortunately. 2 glasses (from the closet) that we had used the evening before and left on the desk, were put back in the closet dirty! We went down for a soda at the bar/restaurant, we overheard a lady talking to another person and staff members and introducing herself as the manager of the hotel. The day before the man at reception introduced himself to us as the manager of the hotel. Made me feel like our complaint about other people entering our room was even more not taken seriously.
Day 3, we woke up at 05:00 because of a very strong burning plastic smell. I checked the hallway and there was nothing there, it came from the air vent which you cannot switch off. Windows can’t be opened. Reception said they would check but it was probably from smoke outside. Early and not nice start of our day. Before we left we placed dirty glasses on the desk with a third glass (we got some icecubes from the bar). Again, the beds were made and towels were left but no vacume cleaning was done, desk was not wiped clean and dirty glasses were back in the closet again!
Day 4, again a very strong weed smell. You could already smell it stepping out of the elevator. At this point I didn’t even bother to inform reception as it felt like it wouldn’t be taken seriously anyway.
Over all it’s been a very disappointing experience for us. Plus points for the hotel, it looks very nice, it’s perfectly located near the metro and it also offers a very nice breakfast buffet! I think with some extra attention/improvement by management and staff this hotel could...
Read moreNote: I'm reposting this review again (original stay was July 2022) since the original review was marked as fake engagement while I actually stayed in the hotel and it was my actual thoughts on the hotel. The hotel might have changed in these two years. However, I don't think there is anything offensive in my review that grants being removed.
We stayed at this hotel for one night in summer 2022 for a friend gathering in Amsterdam. The main reason I chose the hotel was because of my Gold Accor All membership and because the hotel seemed brand new.
Welcome: We arrived around 13:00. The reception staff were the slowest Accor hotel reception I have ever seen. The receptionist told that he is alone so he was showing people the few seats in reception area. We literally waited half an hour for only 2 other customers to check in. The receptionist was giving so much detail that we thought they were trying to sell the house forever to the people that are trying to check-in. Once we reached the receptionist, there was already a tension due to long wait and I truly didn't enjoy the check-in experience, even though my All Accor status was recognised and we were given welcome drinks (no room upgrade though). When we went to room, we realised that the receptionist even forgot to provide the Wifi password which required us to go all the way down to the reception again.
The room: The hotel is brand new and the rooms are in amazing condition. Everything brand new and so well thought. Everything works as expected and we had a very comfortable sleep. I would totally come to this hotel for that.
Location: Our goal was to see Amsterdam as much as possible in 2 days. Even though the hotel is not right at the centre, it takes only 7-10 minutes to go from the hotel to the Amsterdam city centre with public transport. We even had the chance to go to the hotel to quickly change and continue our day. There is not much around the hotel though. It is a new developing residential area.
Restaurant: At this particular stay, we didn't use the restaurants of the hotel. The restaurant is shared with the sister hotel Tribe which is right next to it though.
Overall: The hotel is brand new and they provide a really comfortable room. The only thing that requires improving is the reception. Whenever I went there, there was chaos and even simplest of the things were taking...
