C&C Family Takeaway — Local services in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

It's taken me this long to find the courage to write a review about my experience with C&C Family Takeaways. One night in August last year, I stopped into this takeaway shop on the way home from a late night course at MIT. I was starving and was the only place open besides Pizza Hut and was after the quick option. I ordered sweet and sour x fried rice and also pieces of BBQ pork. The sweet and sour tasted like it was laced with something strong that I could not inhale. The BBQ pork was fatty and also tasted and smelt strong. I didn't get to finish the food but I'm suspecting the meat was off and they were trying to disguise it with sauces and who knows what else. The next afternoon I started developing a fever that night up until the next morning when I started developing diarrhea with strong upper abdominal pain. It lasted for about a day and then I became extremally constipated and had trouble passing stools and I couldn't go to work or do anything, this lasted for nearly a week. Booked in with my GP who suggested it was severe food poisoning. I've never had food poising this bad and I don't want to go through that agony again. We arrived at 9:30, Saturday night and the takeaways was getting ready to close down even though we turned up at the same time the week before and they were still serving. Although the lady said they were packing up, she reluctantly took one of our orders while the rest of our group took their service to the Pizza Hutt next door.

If fed up and stingy was a takeaway, it would be this place. Fed up, because that was the reaction on the lady's face, and stingy, when I asked if they would sell what little food they had remaining in their buffet at a discount, she said no. So I settled for 2 lamb flaps and 5 large drinks.

Went on the 11th of Feb around 1pm going on to 1.30pm and brought 2 packs of their chicken nibbles and chips deal for $22 the kids got home and kids went for it and notice the chicken smelt off seems like it’s been sitting there since the morning and looked like it was yesterday chicken, went back to return the food and a lady came up and I was trying to explain what had happened with the food she was very rude and didn’t even let me talk all she was saying was food or money with a very rude tone, this is not the first time this has happened when buying nibbles from them, but they really need to work of their customer service skills when things like this happened because customer is frustrated but she’s only...
