I can't believe in this day and age, that when you phone The British Embassy in both Wellington and Auckland, you cannot speak to a "real person" to ask a basic question. All you get is an automated voice telling you where to look on their website. And that website it is so very, very hard to get the information you are looking for. All I want to know is, is my son eligible for a British Passport if he has a British Maternal...

I had need for an emergency passport to get back to the UK from NZ following the death of a friend. Went to Wellington to collect the ETD where I discovered there were a number of additional requirements for my trip. I cannot thank Liam & Pauline enough for their help. Your office needs a telephonist/receptionist who can answer questions for the public. None of your voice message choices had anything whatsoever to do with my query which is very frustrating! I also see renewals need to be done online these days too therefore presuming there is no passport office in Wellington...
