Very disappointed, ordered online shopping for pick up at 11am finally got it around 1pm. I got to the store just after 11am and rang the buzzer was told that they would be a few minutes wait. So I waited about 30 minutes and rang the buzzer again. They said they were busy and would be some time before I got my order. I politely told the guy my pick up time was 11am and it was now almost 12pm. I then rang the duty manager who went over to the online packing section and said they were short staffed today. I told her I understand things happen but there was no communication to me the customer of any delays and all it takes is a courtesy call to the customer to explain about these delays so we don’t then come at the allocated pick up time and wait for an hour for an order that hasn’t even been done! One of the workers then came out to the car park and said they were short staffed etc and tell me and the other ladies waiting for their groceries that Sunday is not a good day for people to do online shopping! I told her that should not be the case as for some of us it’s convenient for us to collect our shopping on the weekend. I am a regular customer for many years and I have given the online staff the benefit of the doubt many times after I found stuff missing in my shopping and had to make an extra trip back to the shop! There is just no empathy or consideration for the customer and all it takes is a call to let the customer know if there are any issues or delays so we don’t come over for nothing. Really quite...
Read moreShopped here for many years now, recently refurbished establishment, incredible stock of goods, aisles are wide aiding comfort, bakery is outstanding, Rye bread is a favourite. Vegetables are mainly good, radishes and celery are a bit sad sometimes though. Impressive selection of meat, Brookfields own brand is worth a try. Fish is good from here again a goodly selection. Try the cafe when shopping is complete near the exit. L'Affaire coffee is delicous, baristas are young but capable of a good latte, small selction of pies, slices and sandwiches. A well run customer orientated Supermarket, staff are very helpful, professional and pleasant. As your local Google guide I can highly recommend Brookfield New World...Some recent changes the coffee has changed to Cafe L'Affaire, still a superb coffee, I have 2 medium cups before shopping. No extra charge for Decaf, better price than the cafes in town. Strong, Creamy and delicious uplifting coffee made by the wonderful young baristas. Accompanied today by an apple Danish, just heavenly. For coffee and snack this cafe rates second place along with Dry Dock in Tauranga. Highly recommended by your Google local guide, go to New World at Brookfield and try it soon...enjoy ....15th May 2019 this is now the top coffee in the city, for strength, flavour and price my top recommendation as your local Google Guide, it just gets better. Read moreI would give this location a 5 if it weren't for the horrible car park layout. The store itself is fine, clean, easy to get around in, and the staff are perfectly friendly and courteous, but that car park. Like a maze sometimes getting in and out of that location, and if you have never visited or it has been some time, it can get a little frustrating to turn on to a one way between the other shops trying to go East out of the car park. Any other direction is a bit better, but not by a lot. I think it is the land plot itself just has too many angles to the location site that make the car park a weird layout to maneuver and narrow alleys that are not clearly marked their for traffic or flow. Go there, you will see what I mean. Otherwise, it's a New World, and if you have visited one, you are likely to feel at home in another. That, I can say, consistency is actually a pretty good thing.
Prices are, well, it depends on what you are getting, but generally I don't find the prices less than the competition. In some cases, I am okay with that as the stores seem a bit better presented and selection is better at times. But I guess everywhere is getting expensive nowadays.
Would go again, just need to keep in mind the weird layouts of the exits and entrances in relation as well to the street...
