PAK'nSAVE Levin — Local services in North Island

I left your store almost in TEARS yesterday. I arrived at the supermarket in a rush but realised that I had no masks in my car. Usually you can ask for one from the supermarket. I waited outside until I could see no customers in the self check out. I quickly walked there to approach the employee. I maintained a 2 metre distance from her as I explained that I did not have a mask and was in able to go home and get one, I asked if I could please use one of the stores disposable ones. She gave me a filthy look and just said “well, you’ve pretty much Ed walked through the whole store”, I stood there shocked as she repeated herself. She reluctantly in crossed her arms and grabbed one for me repeating her statement AGAIN as she handed it to me. I felt so worthless. I placed the mask down on the chair behind her and just said, I’m going to go somewhere else. She responded with “alright” as I left. I then went to countdown where I asked for a mask and they were MORE than happy to give me one with a smile! I will not be returning to pak n sav or new world after this experience. I have never felt so looked down...

Supermarket owner has steadily been replacing the cheaper options with very expensive ones. Used to be able to get everything I wanted there. They also are cruel to elderly with parking and fines. My mum is elderly and cannot get around the store in an hour. When she asks for an extension from the service desk people they angrily ask her why she needs it. This has happened several times. We have both been growled at by one checkout operator for using sanitiser on the trollies. I am immune compromised, my mum has lupus and erosive arthritis. We cannot afford to get sick.

Chicken Thighs

Back in November chicken thighs were on a really good special for 4.99 a kg. I bought several packs and froze them. I made some last night for dinner and those were the toughest, stringiest chicken thighs we have ever had. I rarely post negative reviews but this is just so aggravating. I have no problem stewing those kinds of chicken - and it was stewing chicken but to sell them as per usual is not ok. I’d have happily made chicken pot pie with them after simmering them for a couple of hours. I’ve gone back in my freezer and labelled the rest of the packs appropriately. Really disappointing. My husband and I will make a fortnightly trip to Pak N Save in Paraparaumu a regular thing...
