Mayflower Takeaways — Local services in South Island

Every time I go to Dunedin I get sum meals from these lovely lovely friendly people. They all (staff) treat the customer really well. Usually I get Nasi Goreng no msg please (please pardon the spelling, as I don't speak Asian very well, or spell...).

I recently purchased my meal, at $11 & I'm fully satisfied, and noted the new B rating, however I'm told this is for paper work or similar. Whatever!?? The food is great, and the price is great, always appears clean... I know of local customers that travel reasonable distances to get their f&c or Chinese etc, and I can say I travel, when in Dunedin via St Kilda beach area, or even...

So disappointing.

This was the 3rd time my partner and I ordered chicken wings from Mayflower. First two times, the wings were big, perfectly cooked, and delicious; this time they were tiny, over cooked, and so salty they were barely edible. The chips were garbage as well; half were under cooked, half were over cooked, and 90% were the tiny "leftover" bits. Honestly the worst chips from any fish and chips shop we've been to.

We will not be returning to Mayflower, why risk repeating...

Have tried all the 3 takeaways on South Road for fish and chips. Mayflower is definitely the best. I especially like the hot chips, not particularly crispy but taste really good for a takeaway. Portion size for chips is significantly smaller compared to other takeaways. But I don't even mind as I prefer quality over quantity. I go there about twice a week just for chips, that's how much I like their chips. Never ordered other meals from the menu as we're only after...
