Kuku Coffee Dunedin — Restaurant in South Island

Kuku was certainly one of my favorite parts of my visit to the Dunedin area. It was certainly the best flat whites I had during my trip covering both islands for two months. The great coffee is joined by cool vinyl being played and chats with the proprietor, Jared. None of the myriad customers I observed during my week of visits needed to order anything (unless they were picking up a cup of delight for their obviously valued friends.) Jared greeted them by name and already had their drink started before they reached the counter. A friend recommended the coffee so having time on my hands on Caversham I went in today. Jared...such a friendly and interesting chap. They make the best iced mocha in NZ. All they do is coffee and that means they do it well. Beans are roasted in house and the barista took extra care to add a frozen cube of coffee so the mocha would taste consistently good and not watery once the ice cubes melted.
