Queenstown Fishing — Local services in South Island

fishing date, nov 27, 2022. So, on short notice I booked a mixed charter on Queenstown fishing. Off I went with Simon and the three new friends I made. We had a very nice afternoon weather wise, and had a good day of fishing. The fish were a little slow to the bite, but Simon kept working at it, and we eventually boated a nice rainbow, a nice salmon, and a really nice big fat brown trout! We also lost a few others that hit but didn't quite make it to the boat. Simon worked hard to get us on the fish, switched up baits and tactics, and we actually fished longer than planned in an effort to make sure everyone caught something. I highly recommend fishing with Simon. His fishing gear was excellent, and he knew the lake and conditions inside out. Lake Wakatipu is simply a beautiful place to fish, the fish themselves are amazing, and when you fish with Simon, he will work hard to make sure you have a great experience! I thoroughly enjoyed the adrenaline rush of catching fish during the 3 Hour Fishing Experience in Queenstown. The excitement of the catch was unparalleled.

However, I felt that a considerable amount of time was spent moving from one fishing spot to another.

For the price paid, the actual time spent fishing could have been longer, yet the joy of the experience made it well worth it.

Simon, our guide, was exceptional, making the trip not only educational but also very enjoyable. This has been one of the best activities I've experienced in Queenstown.

Besides fishing, the tour offers stunning views of Queenstown's scenic beauty. While I believe more fishing time would have enhanced the experience, every cent spent was worth it for the wonderful memories created.

Fantastic days fishing on Lake Wakatipu Queenstown

Fantastic day with Simon from Queenstown fishing. This guy knows his stuff and is so passionate about the area and has exceptional fishing gear and skills. We initially were confused as there is another charter called Queenstown Fishing charters but after asking the locals Simon was the most highly recommended- so rapted we did as we had a great day out - other half totally absorbing all the softbait fly fishing tips as never lake fished for trout in this way before. Keep up the great work Simon you are an asset to the area - just look for the cool Queenstown Fishing logo on his boat -then you know you’ve got the right man .
