We spent a week in NZ (after 2 weeks in AUS), and I can confidently say THIS is the place that lives rent-free in my head. I’ve explored coffee and pastry scenes across multiple cities, lived in Barcelona for 2 years, but nothing prepared me for this. You absolutely BLEW MY MIND. Honestly? The best pastries I’ve ever had in my life. The atmosphere was incredible, the coffee was excellent, but those pastries…the FRESHNESS, the flakiness, the flavor in every single bite. OMG 🤯 If I lived nearby, this would be my daily ritual, no question. Keep doing exactly what you’re doing. You’ve earned a lifelong fan halfway...

It’s about a 10min drive to the bakery, nice view. However, the pork sausage roll we ordered was terrible. It was so fatty and greasy that the pastry was soaked in fat and fell off the “meat”part, it couldn’t be eaten. I had one mouthful of it and I couldn’t taste any meat but just an undesirable coat of fat taste in my mouth.

I would also mention the do not offer soy milk, as they believe it’s not a popular milk to offer, however they have oat and almond milk on offer.

To note, they did offer another item after I shared my experience with them about the sausage roll, however by that stage we wanted to...

Great place to sit and work! Nice coffee, delicious food and lovely service. I recommend the matcha, the pesto pastry and the egg & cheese sandwich.

There’s not that many tables inside but people generally come and go, so if you want to sit for a while there usually is a place free after waiting a bit.

The staff let me sit and work, and the wifi was super fast (up to 200mb/second). Only downside, on a wavy day you do get a slight motion from the water - which you can feel when back on land. Just have to get some sea legs! 😎

This quickly became my local for the week! For...

Lovely bakery looking over the lake. Came here for a quick bite and got a ham and cheese croissant and my partner got a pork and fennel sausage roll. I did a double take because the croissant was so good; the pastry was flaky and the ham and cheese were perfect. I even annoyed my partner the rest of the day by saying every now and then "That was such a good croissant" or variations of that. My partner's sausage roll was decent and meaty but had not even a whisper of fennel which was a bit misleading. Otherwise super happy with the bakery and only wish I could try more of the pastries!
