This was a very pleasant surprise, we had thought that the market would be worthwhile to visit but didn't realize that for a smallish community that the market would be as well setup and extensive as it turned out to be. A great variety of stalls which was probably in excess of about 70 plus. The variety is really great, from simple second hand house type contents, heaps of books plus quite a few authors selling their own new books with a number for children. Plenty of food stalls with lots of different foods, breads, honeys etc to choose from. Also coffee available as well as lots of other drink flavours, fruit juices, smoothies etc. plus a good varity of cakes and other taste items. There's a varity of different jewelry makers, artists selling their products, all sorts of things for young and old. If you're on the Island on a Saturday, I feel this is a must visit...
Read moreIt was a great shame that the rain had rolled in for our visit here. Lots of people were crowded into the hall, it was like walking down Oxford Street (London) at Christmas. Saw a few cool looking trade stores, brought a lovely handmade card. The little tea urn was boiling overtime.
Outside being wet, it was not idea to sample of the delights on offer. There was some sort of dance presentation trying to put a show on, but the rain beat them.
I liked the look of the different food stalls, was tempted to try the Hungarian bread, but it would have ended a soggy mess.
Hoping the weather plays ball on...
