Waiheke RSA — Restaurant in Waiheke

Tuesday, March 26th 2024: To the management of the RSA Waiheke: We are 4 visitors from Australia who around 5pm this evening went to your establishment expecting to have a couple of drinks before having dinner at the club (RSA). We were all extremely disappointed to be turned away from the bar by your staff. We were informed that as we were not members we could not have a drink or dinner. A member kindly offered to sign us in but we were told as the member was only staying for 30 minutes we only stay while this member was present at the club. Three of us are in our 60’s with the son of one of us who is 38. We explained that we were RSL members with cards but this apparently was not acceptable. On arrival at the rsa dinning counter tonight no one could be bothered to come out of the kitchen or tell us before we decided on something to order that they were out alot of menu ingredients So when it came to order to the Maori lady who's hair was u in a bun. She suddenly looked at the people behind us and said to them while these guys can't decide I will take your order. Excuse me I just told you what our order is. Still she was reluctant to listen or want to. She asked us 3 times what we wanted and listened wrong. So rude. By the time the meals came out the chips were horrible burnt on the end. We arrived at RSA Waiheke about 5.30 and ordered 2 steak meals and drinks. I asked for a food number she said she'd deliver as it was very quiet. A few more people came in, we finished our drinks ordered mire from the bar and noticed other people at nearby table arriving later had their food. We went chasing staff, and she said the meal was at the nearby kitchen. Should have realized it had been sitting there as veges cold, steak rubbery. Ate it as hungry. We were asked how meal was before paying. Said it was cold and tough steak. No apology, paid full price. Should have skipped without paying...
