Casa Bruja Brewing Co. — Local services in Parque Lefevre

So it's 🌮 Taco Week and their creation sounds pretty damn good (and it was... 4 out of 5 only because the pork was cold) so this is where we decided to go.

Ordered the taco week at 9:40pm and then another separate order of 2 glasses of water, 1 OJ, 1 starter and 2 main dishes at 9:47pm via their online/phone system.

Something like 5 mins went by and they brought the pager for the taco week. Another 10 minutes went by and one of the servers came to ask us if we wanted something to drink. I told him we had ordered 2 waters, OJ and a taco week (which brings a drink) but hadn't received anything yet. He said he would go check and get then right away and so he did.

The beeper went off 5 minutes later and I went to grab the food, thinking it would all be there (cause a total of 30+ minutes has gone by) but no, only the taco week was ready.

20 more minutes went by and another server came by and asked if we wanted anything else. I told him we were still waiting on food and he seemed surprised, said he would check and I told him at this point to forget about it if it hadn't been ordered (which it was, cause I ordered it via their system and received a confirmation #) 🤨.

He came back and said that in effect there was some sort of system error and that it would take another 30 minutes (it was 10:40pm at this point, an hour after we had arrived) if we wanted the rest of the food (which was my GFs basically). We declined and I paid everything except the OJ which she didn't touch because her food never arrived.

The server did offer us a free beer or OJ but what he should have done was waive off the whole thing, horrible experience 👎🏻👎🏻 and I basically had to then go find another restaurant at almost 11PM for my GF to eat.

P.S. Don't make customers use a system to order that doesn't work.

Wednesday Trivia Nights are fun, wish they had a bigger selection of alcoholic drinks for those who don't drink/like beer or the cider/hard seltzer options served here.

The restaurant is a good restaurant i will provide the pros and cons

Pros:

1. lovely steampunk atmosphere
2. generous proportion of food
3. staff is friendly
4. even though visiting this restaurant requires reservation they will try their best to accomodate you
5. place is very clean, glassware, floor and bathroom

Cons

1. as producer of their own craftbeer , i would have expected to be lower in price, however external seller of Casa Bruja sell it almost at the same price, and servings are more generous
2. their self service has areas of opportunity, i ordered a chicken sandwich and it wasnt specified that was spicy, had a hard time with it, i reccomend to have waiters or be more specific
3. ordered an orange juice, it was basically bonlac juice, that a gallon costs like 5 bucks at pricesmart, and the glass was sold at 3.50-4.00 a rather tiny serving full of ice
4. beers that are listed on their website are not available , even though they are advertised on their website. At the restaurant they explained that they are of limited availability
5. place only has one restroom. I recommend to build more restrooms
6. the parking space has areas of opportunity, if you have a lower car, it will scrape.

Beer was alright. We are Germans and know beer, also experienced a lot of craftbrew on our way on the PanAm from Alaska to Panama. Lager and session were very good. Food was bad. Creasy burgers in soaky buns with no tomato or salat. Fingerfood ok. Can’t choose your one tasters. They serve you „their most famous ones“. What ticked us of was the unfriendly and indifferent staff. Waiting at the bar to get served, although three staff members (2 bartenders) are chatting there. If people try to speak and order in the local language out of respect, don’t dismiss them with an eyebroll if they’re not immediately understand the answer (I see you lady with glasses and tattoos!) just rude.
