Estación Central — Local services in Lima Metropolitan Area

This rating is mostly because of the helpful and friendly stuff at the station. The system itself sucks for tourists but has a very good base to improve. At first the machine that gives out the cards for the Metropolitsno buses somehow broke, it took my 10 soles but didn't gave me a card. Luckily there where already three people around me trying to help me with my non existing spanish. One guy was just a passanger that translated between me and the stuff at the bus station. They arranged to give me a free ride to central station where I finally got my card in some office. The friendly passanger even guided me to the office where some of the stuff spoke a little english where he left me. After I got my card they even took me to the next bus and waited till I got in. Very helpful and friendly. Now to the negative sides. As already mentioned the card machine didn't worked and it was more stress than it had to be for a single ride into downtown. It would be also pretty helpful if things was labeled in english. And finally it would be nice if Metropolitano would set their routes and schedules online on to Google maps which was so helpful in cities like Buenos Aires. Es muy interesante para el uso del transporte,es la conexión para conectarnos con diferentes arterias en la ciudad. Se puede comprar,comer o beber mientras espera tu viaje. Su construcción se inició en Abril 2007,con el cierre del carril central de la via expresa,de la Av.Paseo de la República. En Julio se empezó la construcción de la via troncales en el mismo tramo. El 16 de Julio se empezó la construcción de la estación central. En Mayo 2008 se inicia la excavación de los túneles,que conectan la estación central con la via expresa del Paseo de la República y Grau. Se inicia desde los Olivos y Comas hasta Chorrillos . A very well maintained bus station. It's cool (not stuffy nor hot) and unfortunately not a lot of stalls are rented or occupied. It has clean and free washroom after the fare gate!
