Park of the Exposition — Attraction in Lima Metropolitan Area

This is a grand, Central Park that features a museum and beautiful greenery to create a calm and peaceful oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Lima's city center. The citizenry come here especially on the weekends to enjoy time with their families, while tourists come to take pictures and pose for selfies. The park does close early at sunset but admission is free.

Next to this park, outside its gates to the south, is the entrance to the Magic Water Circuit Park which is best when visited in the evenings to engage it's festival of lighted, dancing water fountains. So you can leave one park and enter another if time permits.

Another option is the open plaza that lies perpendicular to the park outside its gates, on the northend. It is amazing to watch the citizenry of Lima gather on the esplanade in the early evenings to practice traditional Peruvian folkloric dances. Many of the groups present are practicing their synchronized movements in preparation for competitions, while others are just gathered to enjoy the camaraderie of friends. After five weeks in Peru, this is hands down my favourite public park with so much to offer. Upon entering the gates, a feeling of warmth and wonder came across me. What a beautiful well cared for space for all to enjoy. With gorgeous statues of people throughout history, stunning architectural structures, water fountains, trees and plants to a boating lake with pedal-lows for rent, a mini zoo with infant birds and peacocks. There is quite literally something for everyone. Whether it’s Full of couples sprawled out on the grass, families feeding the ducks or youngsters preparing their dance routines, it’s impossible to not smile and be grateful for this beautiful place and its treasures. El Parque de la Exposición, ubicado en el centro de Lima, es uno de los espacios más emblemáticos de la ciudad, conocido por su gran extensión y su ambiente tranquilo.
