Pretty awesome experience yesterday spending the day on Lake Titicaca as a guest of the Uros people who are the oldest known intact civilization in South America. I can not imagine living on floating islands of wreaths. What a cultural experience and I am just loving the stories I hear. The sky and water are so blue. And lots of beautiful exotic flowers which is the meaning of the lake. And the colors are very significant to the culture and what they customarily wear to determine if they are...

Nice tourist attraction with very educative program about the history of Uros and the way they build their floating islands and make local pottery and other stuff.

However, keep in mind that the official tours often cooperate with locals and make you pay a lot for handmade (if they are handmade) souvenirs, so one might consider it a tourist trap...

If you have more time and 💰 to spend, you can stay on one of the floating islands overnight which is considered to be a very...

The floating villages of Lake Titicaca are very interesting. It's a bit of a tourist trap, but the people are kind and friendly. There are lots of good souvenirs but I travel light. The demonstration of how they build and maintain their island was fascinating. I was invited into one of the reed houses for a look around.
